Bromfman Shoves on Kurtzman in Five-Bet Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 200/300, 500 ante

Eric Kurtzman raised to 1,200 in the cutoff and Thomas Taylor called on the button. Pedro Bromfman then three-bet to 5,500 in the small blind and Frank Kassela four-bet to 17,300 in the big blind.

Kurtzman called, while Taylor got out of the way. Bromfman, though, came back with a five-bet to 30,500 and Kassela took a minute before folding, while Kurtzman again called.

Bromfman stood pat and Kurtzman took one. Bromfman then moved all in, having Kurtzman's remaining 20,000 covered, and Kurtzman snap-folded.

"That was such a hard fold for me," Kassela said after the hand.

Big Names Expected in $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Championship

Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.

Event #30: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship commences at 2:00 p.m. local time today, and you can already feel the electricity in the air. Some regard No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven as the purest form of poker, and it's challenging to disagree. This event will attract some stellar names to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, each hoping to emerge victoriously in three days.

Entrants begin their quest for glory with a 60,000 starting stack. The first 15 levels last 60 minutes before increasing every 90 minutes from Level 16 onward. Day 1 players get to stretch their legs for 15 minutes every two levels, but there will be no dinner break. Play concludes after the tenth level.

Day 2 starts at 1:00 p.m. local time on June 9, with players able to reenter up to twice during the first level of the day (~2:15 p.m.). The second day could turn into a battle of endurance because the plan is to reduce the field to only five hopefuls. Fifteen-minute breaks are pencilled in every level, with a 60-minute dinner break scheduled for the end of the 15th level (~6:30 p.m.).

The finish time on Day 2 will determine the restart time on Day 3.

Those who followed the 2024 WSOP live updates at PokerNews may recall that Scott Seiver captured this event's bracelet last year. Seiver's victory was his third of the series, a feat last achieved by George Danzer in 2014. In addition to Seiver and Danzer, only Jeff Lisandro, Phil Ivey, Ted Forrest, Phil Hellmuth, and Puggy Pearson have managed to complete a hat-trick of bracelet wins in a single series.

"I feel very satisfied right now," Seiver told PokerNews after the win. "I can't really describe it. I'm like on Cloud Nine right now. This just means so much to me, and it also is a step in a personal journey I've made for myself where I've had a pie-in-the-sky dream where I want to win one bracelet in every single discipline there is."
