Nedelcu Fires Three Barrels

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Rohit Kwatra limped from the small blind and called after Narcis-Gabriel Nedelcu in the big blind raised to 160,000.

The dealer fanned a flop of Q73 and Nedelcu continued for 100,000. Kwatra check-called, and check-called again when Nedelcu fired a second barrel of 275,000 on the 2 turn.

Nedelcu sized up to 410,000 on the 10 river. It only took a few seconds for Kwatra to check-fold.

Mallol Loves the Snowmen

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On the 885 flop, Santiago Montes bet out for 100,000 from late position after Antonio Mallol and Amit Sharma had both checked from the blinds. Mallol called, and Sharma folded.

Both players checked the 9 turn and saw the 7 fall on the river, which they both checked again. Mallol tabled 88 for flopped quads and Montes' cards were instantly into the muck.

Set No Good

The action was picked up on the turn with 900,000 in the middle and the board reading J85K.

Jason Wheeler was in the big blind. He bet 675,000 against David Uvaydov sitting on the button. Uvaydov made the call.

The A river was followed by the same bet from Wheeler, and the same result from Uvaydov, who called for 675,000 once again.

Wheeler tabled 88 for a set, but it was second best to the 109 for a flush shown by Uvaydov.

Pevahouse Doubles Through Verbeck

David Pevahouse moved all in for approximately 115,000 from middle position. Joel Verbeck, with a big stack in the big blind, looked at his cards. He didn't seem to have a good hand, but still called.

Verbeck flopped a flush draw on A7Q, but the A turn and the J river kept Pevahouse in the lead and he doubled up.

The director and musician's next goal is winning a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet.

PokerNews caught up with Defoe, a lifelong poker player, in one of several WSOP events that she is playing this summer to talk about her music and directing careers, poker goals and being married to Ronnie Winter-Defoe, the singer and founding member of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

The flop came K85, Aro bet 210,000, and Choe called.
