Keating Surrenders

Level 8 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Emilien Pitavy opened in the cutoff to 25,000 and only Alan Keating called, defending his big blind.

The flop came 8K2 and Keating checked in flow. Pitavy continued for 17,000, which met immediate resistance as Keating check-raised to 60,000. Pitavy called, and the players saw a 8 turn.

Keating continued the aggression for 75,000, and Pitavy stuck around to see a river card.

That card was the 10. Keating hit the brakes, electing to check. This opened the door for Pitavy to take the betting lead back, doing so with a bet of 240,000.

Keating thought about it, but ultimately didn't take too long before folding.

Gregory Jensen

Landon Tice opened to 22,000 from the hijack before Christopher Puetz three-bet to 66,000 from the cutoff. Alex Kulev four-bet jammed for 195,000 from the button. Tice folded while Puetz called.

Alex Kulev: AxQxAll in
Christopher Puetz: K9

Puetz paired up on the 9x7x3x3xXx runout to bust the Bulgarian. Kulev then reentered.

As that hand finsihed, on another table, Gregory Jensen was all in and at risk to Santhosh Suvarna. The chips got in on the J54 flop, with Jensen holding AA. Suvarna had a flush draw with his K8.

The 6 turn was safe for Jensen but Suvarna made the flush on the 3 river to bounce back up above the starting stack.

Emilien Pitavy raised the hijack to 23,000, and Taylor von Kriegenbergh called on the button. Action was then on Alan Keating in the small blind, who had just lost a pot in the previous hand. Keating announced he was all in, saying, "I've had enough already", before suggesting that he was reacting to having just lost a pot.

Pitavy folded to the all-in, but von Kriegenbergh called.

Alan Keating: A8 All in
Taylor von Kriegenbergh: AQ

Keating was at risk and dominated, but fortunately for him, the deck would cooperate, as the board came down 64383, giving Keating an unexpected double-up.
