Frankland Runs Queens into Kings

On the second hand back from dinner, Mathew Frankland moved all in for 590,000 from the hijack. Vinny Lingham then moved all in for 2,100,000 on the button with Chris Hunichen and Barak Wisbrod folding in the blinds.

Frankland was crushed, but he had his hopes lifted after seing the Q♦ in the window. However, the 2♥K♦ followed behind for a set-over-set situation. Frankland couldn't find his one-outer on the 5♣ turn or A♥ river.

With Frankland's departure, the tournament is now on the stone bubble.

On the 9♥ turn, Von Kriegenbergh checked. Haxton bet Von Kriegenbergh's remaining 550,000, and Von Kriegenbergh made the call for his tournament life.

Heath paired his ace on the A♠10♥3♦ flop to leave Hunichen drawing to Broadway. The short stack asked for at least a spade on the turn but the 7♥ was of no help.

The river bricked off with the 4♣ and Hunichen departed in 15th place after surviving the bubble as one of the smallest stacks.

The flop brought extra help for Mateos, coming down J♣10♥10♣, although it didn't directly improve his hand. He now had an open-ended straight draw as well as two live cards.

Heath absorbed Mateos' stack into his own, and Mateos headed for the exit.

"Does David know that guy?" Oganyan questioned after the hand.

"I mean, I guess it could be David's uncle," Isaac Haxton hypothesized.

Ivey was staring in the face of elimination when the 8♠7♥6♣ flop hit the felt, leaving him looking for a queen. The 4♠ on the turn provided a potential chop, but the J♣ on the river was no help. Ivey was the first elimination at the final table, and it marks his first recorded cash at the 2025 WSOP.
