Lovell Gets Paid on the River

Level 7 : Limits 800/1,600, 0 ante

Four-handed on a flop of 973, Matthew Alexander bet from early position and was called by Alan Fidellow in the hijack, Bruno Fuentes on the button, and big blind David Lovell.

Action checked to Fuentes on the J turn and he bet. Only Lovell and Fidellow called to the Q river, where Lovell then led out with a bet.

Fidellow got out of the way, but Fuentes gave it some thought for a minute before calling. Lovell then showed AK102 for a straight and Fuentes mucked.

Dennis Eichhorn bet from the big blind on a flop of K38 and Jeff Madsen called in early position. Khamar Xaythavone called all in from the cutoff.

Eichhorn bet again on the 6 turn and Madsen called to create a side pot. The river was the 2 and Eichhorn bet. Madsen raised this time and Eichhorn called.

Madsen showed A942 for a low, while Eichhorn had KKQ3 for a set. Xaythavone turned over A943 and chopped the low with Madsen, while Eichhorn took the high pot.

Pot And a Card Get Away From Berg as Merivirta Fills Up

Level 6 : Limits 600/1,200, 0 ante

Jyri Merivirta raised in early position and received calls from Lawrence Berg in the hijack and Brad Owen in the big blind.

Merivirta bet on the 852 flop and only Berg called. Merivirta bet again on the 8 turn and Berg called once more.

Merivirta put out another bet on the A river and Berg called. Merivirta then turned over AA87 for a full house and Berg squeezed his cards so hard that one of them flew across the table and onto the floor. One of his tablemates had to retrieve it for him, and Berg then sent all four into the muck.

Nick Kost, runner-up in this event at the 2023 WSOP, is also at this table.
