Heads-up on a flop of K♠J♠7♣, Matt Grapenthien led out with a bet from the big blind and Raul Paez called in early position.
Grapenthien checked the A♦ turn and Paez bet. Grapenthien called to the K♣ river, where he opened the betting again. Paez came back with a raise and Grapenthien quickly sent his cards into the muck.
Michael Moncek has gained a reputation for being one of the most entertaining poker players to watch, and "Texas Mike" is living up to that distinction at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Moncek, who infamously lost over $2.2 million last summer in the Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game, made a risky move in Day 1c of the $1,000 Mystery Millions as he multi-tabled $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em, which he ended up cashing alongside his brother, Tyler Moncek.
Ready to head back to the bigger buy-in event, Michael Moncek moved all in blind only to run into four monster hands behind him.
In the hand, which Texas Mike posted to X, Moncek held 8♣6♥ as the players behind him consecutively showed J♣J♦, Q♥Q♣, K♣K♥ and A♥A♠.
The madness didn't end there. The dealer fanned a 5♣K♦5♠ flop to give the player with kings a boat for a quadruple knockout.
Four players went to a flop of 4♦3♠K♥ where Yuebin Guo bet from the cutoff. Patrick Stacey called in the small blind, but Eric Polirer raised in the big blind. Adam Miller called in early position, as did Guo and Stacey.
Polirer bet again on the 10♠ turn and Miller called. Guo called all in and Stacey also called to the 5♠ river, where action checked to Miller. He bet and Stacey called. "That's the worst river card ever," Polirer said as he mucked.
Miller showed A♠9♦9♣2♣, while Stacey had A♦Q♦8♥2♦. Both players ended up with a wheel as Guo's cards quickly hit the muck and he headed to the rail.
The remaining 24 players are drawing for seats at the last three tables.
Ken Aldridge was already all in as Melvin McCraney, Joe Ford, and Dennis Morrison went to a flop of 10♣8♣5♥. Ford then bet in the hijack and both opponents called.
Ford bet again on the 5♦ turn and only Morrison called this time. The river was the 2♠ and Ford bet. Morrison called and turned over A♠9♠4♣3♦ for a low, while Ford had J♥10♥10♠8♠ for a full house.
"I had the nut flush draw, ended up with a full house and I still lose. Let me take a picture of this," Aldridge said as his A♣4♦2♣2♦ went into the muck and the bracelet winner made his exit.
