Angela Defoe Balances Poker, Artistry & Being Married to a Rock Star

Los Angeles' Angela Defoe has written a viral pop single, directed an anniversary music video for one of the biggest alternative rock songs of the 2000s, and maintained her sanity while being married to a constantly traveling rock star. The director and musician's next goal is winning a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet.

PokerNews caught up with Defoe, a lifelong poker player, in one of several WSOP events that she is playing this summer to talk about her music and directing careers, poker goals and being married to Ronnie Winter-Defoe, the singer and founding member of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Massive Four-Way All-In Results in Zero Bustouts

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Nick Schulman limped in from under the gun, Phil Hui called from middle position, Viktor Blom raised to 135,000 from the cutoff, Noah Kelley called from the small blind, Schulman called and Hui called.

The flop came 538. Kelley shoved for 485,000 and Schulman, who had a bit less, called and was all-in. Hui shoved, covering all players, and Blom, who had around 1,700,000, called and was also at risk.

The rest of the board ran out 54. All four players had the nut low to take an eighth of the pot. Both Kelley and Hui had a six-high straight to chop the high for the main pot, and Hui's six-high straight was good to three quarters of the side pot between him and Blom.

Weisman Pots the Turn

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Matthew Beinner raised on the button to 60,000, with Dylan Weisman calling in the big blind.

Weisman checked the 6105 flop and called after Beinner continued for 80,000. The K turn hit the felt and Weisman announced pot, betting 315,000.

After taking a few minutes, Beinner slid his cards into the muck and Weisman collected the pot.

Morris Doubles Off Gluszko

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Arthur Morris moved all in for 330,000 on the button and Tomasz Gluszko called in middle position.

The flop came Q97 to give Morris top pair, while Gluszko picked up a straight draw on the J turn. The river was the 5 and Morris held up to earn the double.

James Chen moved all in for 450,000 from the button on a flop of KA10 and Dylan Wilkerson put him at risk in middle position.

Wilkerson was ahead with top two pair as the board ran out 10Q, earning him the pot and sending Chen to the rail in 24th place.

Beinner Chips Up

Matthew Beinner opened to 60,000 in middle position and Marco Johnson made the call in the cutoff.

The dealer fanned out the 7Q4 flop and Beinner announced pot. Johnson took some time before letting his hand go, and Beinner added to his stack.

Costa was ahead with his aces as he stood up and began filming the action with his phone. The turn was the K, but the 2 river gave Vongxaiburana trips to send Costa to the rail.

"Are you kidding me? I couldn't ask for a better flop," Costa said.

"You did all you can do. You can't control the cards," tablemate Shawn Rice said, getting up to console Costa before Costa headed off to the payout desk.

The remaining 24 players are drawing for seats at the last three tables.

Seidel Takes from Chen

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

James Chen opened to 75,000 from under the gun, with Erik Seidel defending his big blind to the 878 flop.

Seidel and Chen both checked and the J turn hit the felt. Seidel led out with a pot-sized bet of 185,000.

Chen counted his remaining stack before opting to slide his cards into the muck, seeing the pot shipped to Seidel.

Weisman Pots Zhou

Dylan Weisman limped in the small blind and made the call after Quan Zhou raised to 75,000 in the big blind.

Both players checked through the 886 flop and the dealer flipped over the 7 turn. Weisman announced pot, sliding out a bet of 175,000.

Zhou took a moment before letting his hand go, as Weisman raked in the pot.
