Rice Hits the Turn to Double Off Blom

In a limped pot, Shawn Rice bet 300,000 from the cutoff on a flop of K♠J♥5♣ and Viktor Blom raised to 1,000,000 in the small blind. Rice then moved all in for 1,860,000 total and Blom called.

Blom had flopped a set against Rice's litany of straight draws, and Rice hit one of them on the 9♦ turn to take the lead. The river was the 7♦ and Rice doubled up.

The next hand, Blom raised to 160,000 on the button and Veerachai Vongxaiburana called in the big blind.

Blom then bet another 160,000 on the 9♣7♦A♥ flop and Vongxaiburana announced pot. Blom snap-folded as he gave up another pot.

Viktor Blom opened to 160,000 from under the gun and Christopher Demaci called on the button. Marco Johnson defended his big blind and the 4♥Q♥J♣ flop was fanned out.

Johnson checked to Blom, who continued for 360,000. Demaci called while Johnson got out of the way. Blom fired again on the 9♥ turn, this time for 420,000.

Demaci did not take long to let his hand go, as Blom collected the pot.

Action folded to Veerachai Vongxaiburana who raised to 240,000 in the small blind. Christopher Demaci called in the big blind.

Vongxaiburana checked to Demaci on the K♥6♥3♥ flop, and he bet 250,000. Vongxaiburana called and the 2♠ fell on the turn.

Demaci then moved all in and Vongxaiburana called. Demaci showed A♥J♥6♦5♠4♦ for the flopped nut flush and nut low, while Vongxaiburana also had the low with A♦K♠8♠4♥3♣.

The river was the Q♦ and Demaci's stack was counted down as 1,250,000 total before he was handed three-quarters of the pot.

The flop came 5♠3♦2♦ and Johnson continued for 360,000. Blom then raised to 1,055,000 and Johnson quickly folded.

"That was almost the pot of the tournament," Shawn Rice said.

All three players checked the 6♦9♥8♥ flop, with another round of checks following the 4♥ turn.

Demaci and Johnson checked one more time on the K♥ river, before Blom fired 600,000 into the middle.

After taking some time, Demaci stuck in the call while Johnson folded.

Blom tabled A♣Q♠J♥8♣2♦ for the nut low, while Demaci showed down Q♥Q♦10♥9♠8♠ for a flush to take the high.
