Is This Player the Next Big Thing at the World Series of Poker?

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Bruno Furth
Bruno Furth

Caleb Furth, known to most as Bruno, had already proven his chops on the felt before the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP). But he's taken his game to the next level this summer — or about three levels — and he might be just getting started.

The Las Vegas local won his first bracelet last year, a $265,361 score for taking down the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better event, beating out 1,277 entrants. That victory was just the start of much bigger things to come.

Wilkie Set-Over-Sets Borlan on the River

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Steven Wilkie was all in from a middle position for around 200,000 and action was on Borlan in the hijack. Borlan called, and the players flipped their cards.

Steven Wilkie: 1010All in
Danserban Borlan: 99

The flop came 83A which kept Wilkie ahead.

The 9 was turned giving Borlan the lead with a set of nines and Wilkie started to stand from the table, thinking he was going to bust.

Wilkie hit a ten on the 10 river, and resumed his seat at the table.

Lee & Melo Chop It Up After Break

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

On the first hand after the break, John Lee announced he was all-in for 145,000 from middle position. It folded around to Luciano Melo in late position, who announced he was also all-in for approximately 525,000. There were no other callers, so Lee was covered and at risk.

John Lee: AQAll in
Luciano Melo: AQ

With the same starting hands, an elimination always looked unlikely, and so it proved as the flop came 510J, before 7 on the turn and the river of 6 completed the board. The pot was chopped.

Kim Finds a Double

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Cody Whitebear opened from middle position to 35,000 and Pil Kim moved all in for his remaining 80,000 stack on the button.

Pil Kim: AJAll in
Cody Whitebear: A10

The 95A flop gave both top pair but Kim was still ahead.

The 5 turn paired the board and Whitebear was calling for a queen to chop.

The K river was also good for a chop, and Whitebear said, "Or a king," saving him from loosing more of his stack.

In the next hand Kim moved all in from the cutoff for 95,000 chips, and got a call from Hunter Cole in the small blind, who had him well covered.

Pil Kim: J10All in
Hunter Cole: 104

Kim had a smoother ride and secured himself the double after seeing the brick 528KA runout.
