Easy Come, Easy Go for Kornuth

Level 5 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

After just claiming a victim not long ago, Chance Kornuth was building a healthy stack deep into Day 1. In a heads-up pot with Isaac Haxton, a completed board of Q103106 was spread across the table with a little over 300,000 in the pot.

Kornuth led out from the big blind with an overbet of 555,000. Haxton gave it some thought for a minute and then flicked in a chip to call. Kornuth tabled J9 for a missed straight draw while Haxton showed AxQx for the best hand.

Boivin Blocks with the Nuts

Level 6 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Thomas Boivin raised it up from middle position and Bryn Kenney flat-called in the cutoff. They went heads-up to a flop of J95 where each player committed an additional 100,000 chips.

The turn was the 3 and Boivin fired out another bet of 160,000. Kenney still called and the A completed the board. Boivin used a time bank and went for a block bet of 100,000. Kenney flicked in a chip to call and Boivin showed AQ for the nut flush much to the demise of Kenney.
