Bleznick's Blind Raise Works Out

Level 6 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

Jared Bleznick was standing up from his seat but raised to 4,700, adamant that he hadn't looked at his hand. He was asking for someone to reraise him, and Chance Kornuth obliged by making it 15,000 from the small blind. The action was back on Bleznick, who decided to finally look at his hand.

"Interesting", he said. He then threw in a green 25,000 chip and said raise, with the minimum raise being to 25,300. Kornuth made the call and the two were off to a flop.

The flop came A49 and Kornuth checked. Bleznick fired 50,000, and Kornuth called.

The 6 fell on the turn, and Kornuth checked again. Bleznick bet a large amount and Kornuth folded before it was counted.

Bleznick showed three of his four cards, those three being the J102, and he raked in the pot.

Viktor Blom

Viktor Blom was entangled in a pot with Harrison Beach, which saw him hit the rail.

The hand began when Harrison Beach raised to 5,000 from the cutoff. Viktor Blom asked for more from the small blind and re-raised to 16,600. Beach called to see a flop.

The flop fanned out J24, which led Blom to put in his final 16,100 for an all-in. Beach called, and the two were sent to a showdown.

Blom showed A1072 for a pair of deuces, while Beach showed 7654 for a pair of fours and a straight draw. Blom found no improvement on the 9 turn and the 5 river to award Beach the pot.

Ivens Triples

Level 6 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Todd Ivens was down to his final 4,400 when he jammed from under the gun. Anthony Zinno, in the next seat over, raised it to 12,000, which garnered a call from Steven Sarmiento to create a side pot while Ivens was at risk.

Zinno opted to bet 20,000 on the 2Q8 flop, but Sarmiento wanted to play for more and raised it ot 50,000. Zinno gave it some thought before he folded to lead to a showdown between Ivens and Sarmiento.

Todd Ivens: KQ52All in
Steven Sarmiento: 8764

Ivens was in the lead with a top pair while Sarmiento held a middle pair. The 10 turn and the 5 river completed the board, upgrading Ivens to two pair, while Sarmiento failed to improve.

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The table folded around to Dario Alioto, who elected to raise to 5,000 on the button. James Collopy responded with a re-raise to 20,000 in the small blind. The action returned to Alioto, who continued with a call.

Collopy chose to bet out 26,500 on the K82 flop, which was met with a raise from Alioto, who went all in. Collopy called, and the cards were on their back.

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Matthew Smith limped from the hijack before Iaroslav Boiko raised to 9,000 from the cutoff. Stephen Chidwick called on the button, and Jake White called out of the big blind. Smith potted it to 41,000 and Boiko repotted it. Chidwick and White folded, but Smith committed the rest of stack, which totalled 89,000.

Matthew Smith: KKQ5 All in
Iaroslav Boiko: AA75

Boika was ahead with aces versus the kings of Smith. However, a runout of 94Q7K improved Smith to the winner on the river with a set of kings, and he doubled up.

Heritsch Doubles Up with Rivered Straight

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Heritsch
Michael Heritsch

Michael Heritsch kicked things off with an under-the-gun raise to 5,000, which Jeremy Ausmus called in middle position. With the action then on Danny Hannawa, he made it 23,000, and both players called.

On the 1067 flop, Heritsch continued for Pot 74,000, prompting a raise pot from Ausmus, which meant the all-in for Heritsch and Hannawa. Hannawa quickly got out of the way, and Heritsch called, leading to a showdown.

Michael Heritsch: J1097All in
Jeremy Ausmus: KQQ8

Heritsch flopped two pair and had a few backdoor options to improve his hand even more, whilst Ausmus had an overpair and a flush draw.

The 9 on the turn gave Ausmus also outs for a possible straight, but the 8 on the river completed the straight for Heritsch, and he doubled up.
