2025 World Series of Poker
Sean Troha opened from the cutoff to 12,000. Aaron La was on the button and moved all in for his remaining 81,000. Troha called and the cards were flipped.
Aaron La: A♥8♣
Sean Troha: K♣Q♥
The 5♣10♦2♦ flop saw no change and La held with just an Ace on the 5♠ turn and 2♠ river.
It won't be an easy day for either player as they have Ren Lin and Jonathan Tamayo at their table.
Anthony Ibrahim opened to 16,000 under the gun and got a three-bet from Stefan Reiser in middle position to 48,000. The flop came 2♣7♣J♦.
Ibrahim checked triggering Reiser to fire another 25,000 which was enough to make his opponent fold.
Aleksejs Ponakovs's all-in from the cutoff was called by Maksim Mutalapov on the button.
Aleksejs Ponakovs: J♠J♥
Maksim Mutalapov: K♠K♥
The bigger pair held with a runout of 2♠7♥10♣6♥A♣, giving Mutalapov a huge jump up the leaderboard, as he took out a two-time bracelet winner with an almost identical amount of chips.
Jonathan Tamayo open-shoved all-in in middle position for 100,000. Action folded to the big blind Daniel Lipszyc who made the call.
Jonathan Tamayo: A♦J♠
Daniel Lipszyc: 5♣5♥
After the hands were tabled, Daniel Charlton was chatting with Tamayo encouraging that he may still win the pot. Tamayo who replied that it was now out of his hands watched the board run 9♠Q♣6♣3♠3♣.
Without any of his cards hitting the board, Tamayo's run ended.
In a heads-up pot, the flop read 2♣2♠A♣ when Terry Wheeler checked from the big blind. Daniel Strelitz bet 15,000 and Wheeler raised it to 40,000, which Strelitz called.
On the 9♥ turn, Wheeler check-called for 40,000 and a 10♦ landed on the river. Wheeler checked again and quickly called Strelitz's bet worth 85,000, but mucked A♥8♣ after Strelitz showed A♦Q♠ for the winning hand.
