Adrian Cazacu opened from under the gun to 80,000, and Brandon Sunshine raised to 520,000, next to act.
Sunshine had left 65,000 behind as the players were on a pay jump. Action returned to Cazacu, who moved all in, and once he was assured of the pay jump, Sunshine called.
Brandon Sunshine: A♣K♦
Adrian Cazacu: A♥Q♠
The flop 7♠J♦J♣ kept Sunshine in the lead, but offered opportunities for Cazacu to chop the pot.
The turn 3♥ and river 9♦ were no help to Cazacu, though, and Sunshine pulled in a big double up.
Veselin Dimitrov open-shoved to 350,000 in middle position. Michael Mizrachi asked for a count and went into deep thought, counted his chips, thinking of what to do next. He finally announced an all-in, prompting the rest of the table to fold.
Veselin Dimitrov: A♣9♣
Michael Mizrachi: A♥10♥
From behind, Dimitrov was pushed into the lead when the flop came 7♠3♠9♦ spiking a pair on the board. The 8♠ gave Mizrachi an open-ended straight draw that could possibly create an upset for Dimitrov.
The river 10♦ didn't complete Mizrachi's straight but gave him a higher pair which was enough to end Dimitrov's tournament run.
Action folded to Joao Simao in the hijack who raised and faced a three-bet from Louis Seguin on the button for around 100,000. Simao decided to four-bet to 210,000 but Seguin shoved for 550,000.
Simao went deep into the tank and eventually folded.
With roughly 150,000 in the pot, Ignacio Sagra, Joao Simao and Ryan Riess were looking at a board of 8♠5♠3♦.
Sagra checked from the small blind, which prompted Simao to place a bet of 40,000. Riess then responded with a raise to 120,000, before seeing Sagra check-raise all-in for 310,000. Simao got out of the way, and Riess went into the tank. After taking some time to think the hand through, Riess made the call.
Ignacio Sagra: J♠10♠
Ryan Riess: A♦9♦
Riess had made the hero-call with just ace-high and was correct, but there were several cards he needed to avoid.
The turn 6♦ kept Riess in the lead, and gave him a flush draw of his own, but the river J♥ was just what Sagra was looking for, his top pair giving him the best hand.
Sagra's stack was double-checked before the dealer pushed the huge double-up in his direction.
