William Romaine Eliminated in 13th Place ($7,954)

Level 25
William Romaine
William Romaine

Poker can be a cruel game sometimes.

Twenty minutes ago, William Romaine revealed the recent loss of his dog Troy to the table, to which Nathan Gamble empathetically responded "just give him the tournament now."

Gamble, however, ended up becoming Romaine's executioner instead in rather brutal fashion.

Down to less than four big blinds, Romaine was all in after the first draw and stood pat before the final draw holding a ten-nine. Gamble, perhaps living up to his surname here, drew three (!) coming into the final draw, keeping only the 7x and the 2x.

Carefully, Gamble flipped the cards over one by one and much to the shock — and delight — of everyone except Romaine, the 5x, 4x and 3x appeared in succession for an improbable wheel.

"I had a dream!" Gamble laughed out loud.

Romaine said his goodbyes as the field went down to two tables.
