James Moving Up in the Counts; Eliminates Two

Kenna James raised to 1,000 and Dennis Derge made it 3,000 on his direct left. It folded back to James and he made it 8,000. Derge went all in and James made the call.

The board ran out 7♦5♦10♦2♣3♣ and James dispatched his table neighbor.

Just moments later, Kenna was seen knocking out Dennis Derge when his pocket fives improved to a boat, collecting a massive pot.

Multiple bracelet winner, Daniel Heimiller filled the seat on James' direct left — making it a table of power houses that also includes Barny Boatman three seats to Heimiller's left.

With over $4,000,000 in career earnings, Kenna James is no stranger to winning tournaments.

He's made a total of three World Series of Poker final tables in his career but the closest he's been to the gold is a 4th place finish at the 2003 WSOP in a $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Event ($36,140).

He got close again in 2006 when he finished 6th in the $2,500 Razz event ($29,472), a price point that no longer exists at the Series.

In 2019, James had to win all the chips at several tables in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shoot Out but eventually bowed out in 9th place.

An illustrious career is hardly complete without a gold bracelet, a task James has assuredly set his mind to.

Mark Brennan raised to 1,100 on the butoon and Kenneth Stewart went all in from the small blind. Bernard Kibling made the call in the big. Brennan folded.

Stewart was rooting, "No jack, no jack!" and as the 8♦10♠K♦ he said, "I like that!".

The turn bricked the 8♠ but Steward caught one of the cards he needed when the 9♣ fell and he collected a full double plus some.

Nina Hazdovac was under the gun when one of her cards was revealed as the A♠ during the pitch. As is customary when this happens, the deal continues normally and the revealed card is replaced last. The dealer forgot to give Hazdovac her second card so she requested it when action was on her.

Hazdovac then went all in but, according to Barny Boatman, the dealer said "I think I gave her the ace of spades again..." while the all-in player quietly sat there. The floor was called and no one could determine definitively if the A♠ was distributed again. Hazdovac had obvious reasons to stay quiet in such a unique situation.

The floor ruled that because there was significant action and there was no sure way of knowing if a mistake was made the hand would play on normally.

As it turns out, the rest of the table folded and Hazdovac still didn't want to reveal whether she had been dealt the best ace in the deck again.
