Diwan Gets a Shot at Bailey; It Backfires

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Archie Bailey got his last few thousand chips into the middle preflop and Ashish Diwan easily made the call.

Archie Bailey: K4
Ashish Diwan: AA

"I'm going to need a couple fours...", said Bailey as he saw he was up against aces.

The flop brought a collective affirmation from the table as it scrolled across 482.

Bailey got there the other way when the K turned and the table was in an amused uproar when the river bricked the J.

Life is a Freeroll After 60, According to Nguyen

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen

1998 Main Event Champion, Scotty Nguyen, was heard saying the following at his Super Senior's table:

"It's a freeroll, baby! If you make it this far, if you make it past sixty, it's all a free roll, baby! Nothing to lose, just play."

Nguyen's table whole-heartedly agreed and the moment was further proof of the camaraderie that is bred in closed events (i.e. Employees, Seniors, Womens).

Nguyen cashed Event #48: Senior's Championship in 39th place ($17,948) and it marks his only cash of the 2025 World Series of Poker thus far. Only time will tell how the five-time bracelet fares the rest of the Series.

King in the Window for Goldstein

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Robert Goldstein was all in and at risk with cards on their backs against Julie Herbert.

Robert Goldstein: KK All in
Julie Herbert: AQ

The dealer fanned out 8K10, giving Goldstein top set and Herbert a gut shot.

The A came on the turn but Herbert needed a jack to eliminate Goldstein but the Q came on the river, just a further needle to Herbert as Goldstein collected the pot.
