2025 World Series of Poker
Jonathan Socolow jammed from early position and was called by Suzanne Malavet on the button, who had him covered.
Jonathan Socolow: A♣J♠
Suzanne Malavet: K♠K♥
Socolow was unable to overcome the kings of Malavet on the board of [7dJc4d98s4h].
When it folded to Ronald Massetti in the small blind, he jammed for 18,000 and Dennis Munro instantly called out of the big blind.
Ronald Massetti: A♥2♠
Dennis Munro: 6♦6♥
Massetti was looking for an ace to survive and have a chance of making the money. The dealer put out a board of A♠3♥5♥3♣Q♥, which gave Massetti the winner with an ace on the flop, earning him the much-needed double.
Just before cards got in the air for the level, it was discovered that Merle Vangieson was the oldest player remaining in the field at 94 years of age.
In this hand, Jeffrey Norman raised to 7,000 from middle position and only Vangieson called out of the big blind.
Vangieson checked the A♦4♥7♦ flop and Norman fired a continuation-bet of 8,000. Vangieson took a few moments and then made the call.
Both players were happy to check down the 4♦ turn and 6♥ river. Vangieson flipped over A♣10♥ for a pair of aces to win the pot.
Brian McCann got it started with a raise from middle position before Holly Jones threw in her final 10,000 from the small blind. Arthur Schiavo did the same from the big blind for his final 17,000, and McCann came along with a call to create a three-way showdown.
Holly Jones: A♦K♣
Arthur Schiavo: A♥10♠
Brian McCann: Q♣10♣
Jones came out of the pack on top when the board ran 2♣5♠9♦6♦4♦ to triple. Schiavo scooped the side.
The players have returned to their seats, and play has resumed.
