Vangieson Proves Age Doesn't Matter

Level 13 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Merle Vangieson
Merle Vangieson

Just before cards got in the air for the level, it was discovered that Merle Vangieson was the oldest player remaining in the field at 94 years of age.

In this hand, Jeffrey Norman raised to 7,000 from middle position and only Vangieson called out of the big blind.

Vangieson checked the A47 flop and Norman fired a continuation-bet of 8,000. Vangieson took a few moments and then made the call.

Both players were happy to check down the 4 turn and 6 river. Vangieson flipped over A10 for a pair of aces to win the pot.
