Mermelstein Triples With Trips

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With the flop showing 59K, David Hinterberg checked from the big blind, and Chris Antzoulatos bet 20,000 from middle position. Jeffrey Mermelstein called for his last 12,000 from the button, and Hinterberg also called.

With Mermelstein all-in, the 5 turn and K river were checked down. Hinterberg revealed 1010, and Antzoulatos showed 1010. Mermelstein had them both beat with KJ for a full house and tripled up.

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Rick Cooper went all-in for 62,000 and was called by Evert Zwartjens. Daniel Gates wanted to play for more and jammed for 144,000, which yielded a fold from Zwartjens to go to a showdown between Cooper and Gates.

Rick Cooper: JJAll in

Cooper stayed ahead on the flop 8410, but the A spelt doom for Cooper as it left him with only two outs with one card to go. The 9 sealed the deal and sent Cooper out of the tournament.

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

After seeing an early position raise by John Morgan, Mark Montgomery responded by moving all in for 82,000.

Action folded back to Morgan, who took a minute to think before making the call.

Mark Montgomery: AK All in
John Morgan: JJ

Coy Catches Bluff; Morgan Caught in the Crossfire

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action folded to Ramana Epparla in the cutoff, who raised to 10,000. Small blind Kenneth Coy made the call, and John Morgan, in the big blind, called off his remaining stack and was all in for 8,000.

The flop came out 7102, and Coy didn't hang around, leading into the preflop aggressor for 20,000, which Epparla called.

The turn J didn't slow Coy down, this time putting out a bet of 40,000. Once again, Epparla called.

Coy decided to hit the brakes on the 5 river, but seemingly he was trapping his opponent, as when Epparla put out a bet of 80,000, Coy called immediately.

Epparla was caught bluffing, revealing A9, which Coy had beat with his Q10. All in player Morgan couldn't better his opponent's hand, showing 54.

As Coy pulled in the pot, Morgan headed to the exit.

Kenneth Coy opened the action with a raise from early position to 10,000. Mark Montgomery called on the button before Joseph Schwenk jammed for 31,000 from the small blind. Coy responded with a raise to 60,000, which elicited a fold from Montgomery.

Joseph Schwenk: QQAll in
Kenneth Coy: K10

Schwenk held the lead, but that changed after the flop when it fanned out JK8. The 7 turn and the 4 river were the final two cards of Schwenk's tournament as he was sent to the cage.

McKenzie on a Heater; Moresi Shown the Door

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Serge Moresi got the last of his chips at risk against Mary Mckenzie on a board of 652.

Serge Moresi: 99 All in
Mary Mckenzie: AQ

Moresi seemed primed to double when the 8 came off on the turn.

McKenzie cheered when the A snapped off on the river much to Moresi's chagrin.

"You didn't even have a hand on the flop... oh, well — nice hand." Moresi said as they confirmed his payout.
