Can Huck Seed Go All the Way in $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo?
It's been a comeback decades in the making.
Poker Hall of Famer Huck Seed's return at the 2025 World Series of Poker has been nothing short of remarkable thus far. With a rekindled love for the game, Seed has been grinding it out all summer as if it were 1996 all over again, when he captured poker's most prestigious event back in the day at Binion's Horseshoe in Downtown Las Vegas.
The four-time bracelet winner has already racked up ten cashes this summer — eleven if you include this one — and finds himself in a spot to capture his first bracelet since 2003.
Only ten players stand between Seed and the coveted prize as action resumes at 1 p.m. in the Event Center in the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for the final day of Event #69: $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better. Seed returns eighth in chips (635,000, 5 big bets), but if limit poker has taught us anything over the years, it's still anyone's game with a big scoop falling the right way.

Coming back as the overnight chip leader is Jay Kerbel (3,525,000 - 29 big bets). Fresh off a deep run in the $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw earlier (19th for $6,422), he jumped straight into this $1,500 Stud 8 and again is putting himself in bracelet contention.
Rounding out the top three are 2025 bracelet winner Blaz Zerjav (2,515,000 - 21 big bets), who could win a second bracelet in an event that couldn't be further removed from the first one he captured in Event #22: $25,000 High Roller 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em. Canada's Aaron Lugibihl (2,350,000 - 20 big bets) sits in third when cards go back in the air.
Levels will be 60 minutes throughout, with play resuming in Level 26 at 1 p.m. local time. The ante will be 15,000, bring-in 20,000, a completion is 60,000, and the limits will be 60,000/120,000.
As always, PokerNews will be circling the tables until the final card has been pitched off the deck, so make sure to check back regularly as we crown a new bracelet winner at the World Series of Poker!
