Aliaksei Boika raised to 32,000 on the button and Harvey Castro defended from the big blind. The flop came 9♠7♠3♣ and Castro check-called a bet of 45,000 from Boika.

The turn brought the 10♦ and Castro check-called another bet of 125,000 from Boika. The 10♥ paired the board on the river and Castro checked for the third time. Boika announced all in as the bigger stack but Castro still asked for a count and then used a time bank before calling.

Boika whipped over Q♠Q♣ thinking that he won the hand and the match, but Castro turned over K♥10♠ for trip tens and doubled into the lead.

Kornuth has Martirosian on the Ropes

Artur Martirosian raised on the button to 24,000 and Chance Kornuth made the call.

The flop came 9♦6♠4♠ and when Kornuth checked, Martirosian followed through with a continuation bet of 48,000. Kornuth called.

The turn brought the 2♥ and Martirosian kept betting, this time to the tune of 125,000. Kornuth once again called.

On the river Q♣, Kornuth checked, and Martirosian thought for a bit. He used a time extension, but seemingly waved the white flag and checked. Kornuth showed the 9♠5♦ for a pair of nines and Martirosian mucked.

“Good check”, Kornuth remarked, implying he was going to call. “Maybe not”, said Martirosian, who maybe regretted not firing the third barrel.

Kornuth now hold a commanding lead in the match.

Boika Extends His Lead

Aliaksei Boika raised it up on the button and Harvey Castro reraised to 90,000 from the big blind. Boika called and they were faced with a flop of 9♥4♥3♠. Castro led out with a big bet of 145,000 and Boika just called.

The turn brought the Q♥ and Castro slowed down with a check this time. Boika dropped in a bet of 125,000 and Castro quickly mucked his cards.

Two hands later, Boika made it 25,000 on the button and Castro called. The flop came Q♣6♥5♦ and both players checked to the 9♥ on the turn. Castro checked again and Boika threw in a bet of 35,000. Castro called and the J♦ completed the board. Castro checked one last time and Boika fired out a bet of 90,000 which got Castro to fold again.

This gave Boika a slight advantage in the heads-up match.

In a limped pot, David Chen and Thomas Eychenne saw a flop of K♣2♠2♥. Chen led out with a bet of 15,000 on the flop and Eychenne raised to 45,000. Chen called and the 8♦ landed on the turn.

Chen checked to Eychenne who bet 110,000 and Chen still called. The J♦ completed the board and Chen checked once more. Eychenne reached for a bet of 330,000 which sent Chen spiralling as he threw his K♥ face up into the muck.
