The Poker Hall of Famer and seven-time WSOP bracelet winner has been eliminated from this year’s $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship after a rare misread led him to shove all-in against American player Mark Steinberg with his tournament life on the line.
Alexander Wilkinson raised on the button, Matthew Schreiber reraised in the small blind, and Wilkinson called.
Schreiber drew one and Wilkinson took three. "When I draw one and he draws three, I'm 0-5," Schreiber said as he bet. Wilkinson called and drew three again, while Schreiber drew one and bet.
Wilkinson again called and both players drew one. Schreiber then bet and Wilkinson called.
"Pair," Schreiber said, and Wilkinson showed Qx7x6x5x2x to win the pot.
"Lost 20 hands in a row. From four million down to 1.3," Schreiber lamented as the three players headed off on dinner break.
Nick Schulman raised on the button and Matthew Schreiber called in the big blind.
Both players drew two and Schreiber bet. Schulman then raised and Schreiber called.
Both players stood pat and Schulman bet. Schreiber raised and Schulman reraised. Schreiber then made it four bets and Schulman capped it at five bets. Schreiber folded and Schulman showed 4x3x2x as he took the pot.
