Thorpe One of the 30 Best Triple Draw Players

"Mike, do you realize we're among the top 30 Triple Draw players in the world right now?" Gary Fritz said to tablemate Mike Thorpe.

"I've known Mike for a long time, and I can say he's definitely one of the top 31 players," Fritz added.

Thorpe then raised under the gun and Jason Papastavrou reraised in the cutoff. Thorpe called and they both drew two.

Thorpe led out with a bet and Papastavrou called. Thorpe drew one and Papastavrou two. Thorpe then bet all in and Papastavrou called.

Thorpe stood pat with 8x6x5x4x2x, and Papastavrou was already drawing dead with 9x6x3x2x as he took one. His last card was an inconsequential Ax and Thorpe doubled up.

Korn Forced All In Blind; Ivey Won't Repeat

Andres Korn bet from under the gun after the first draw and Alexander Wilkinson raised on the button. Korn called and drew one, while Wilkinson stood pat.

Wilkinson bet and Korn called. Korn again drew one and Wilkinson pat and bet. Korn tossed his cards away, leaving himself with just 6,000.

Korn was forced all in from the big blind the next hand. "It's actually 10,000," Yuval Bronshtein joked with him.

"Can I borrow four," Korn replied. Action folded around to Daniel Blum in the small blind who limped in.

Blum drew one and Korn three on the first draw. Blum stood pat on the last two draws, while Korn took two and then one.

Blom showed 9x8x7x4x3x and Korn flashed a jack as he headed for the exit.

At another table, Phil Ivey's title defense came to an end when Ariel Mantel drew a 9-7. Ivey was drawing to an eight but caught an Ax on his last card as the defending champion was sent to the rail.

Jon Shoreman raised from under the gun and Daniel Negreanu made it three bets. Shoreman called. Both players drew two and Shoreman check-called a bet.

Both players drew one and Shoreman check-called, with Negreanu saying he'd made number three.

On the very next hand, Negreanu opened and Shoreman defended his big blind. Both players drew one and checked.

They then drew one and checked again.

"This is fun," said Shoreman as both players drew one. He bet on the end and Negreanu quickly mucked.

Krela drew one and Wilkinson drew two. Krela bet and called another raise from Wilkinson.

Krela drew one as Wilkinson stood pat. Krela check-called a bet.

The draws repeated, but Krela check-folded.

Kalas Runs Into Bohlman's Eight

Scott Bohlman raised in the cutoff and Kane Kalas reraised on the button. Daniel Negreanu called in the big blind, while Bohlman also called.

All three players drew two and checked on the first draw. They then took two again. "We're really playing a game here. Two, two, two," Negreanu said.

Negreanu finally led out with a bet and Bohlman raised. Kalas then reraised for his last 46,000 and Negreanu took a minute before folding, while Bohlman called.

Bohlman stood pat with 8x7x6x4x2x, while Kalas was also showing an 8-7-6 and took one, but his last card was a Jx as he was sent to the rail.

German soccer star Max Kruse was also recently eliminated.

Bohlman Escapes From Yockey

After the first draw, Scott Bohlman checked and raised once Bryce Yockey bet. Yockey called.

Bohlman drew two and Yockey drew one. Yockey bet out and Bohlman folded.

A visibly frustrated Yockey clutched his cards in the air before flinging a 7x open. He soon followed it with 5x4x3x2x for a wheel and took down a small pot.

Heads-up on a the first draw, Hye Park bet from the cutoff and Frank Brannan raised on the button. Park called and both players stood pat.

Brannan then bet and Park called again. They each stood pat and checked after the third draw, and Park showed 8x5x4x3x2x to win the pot.
