Kay Versus Ray in a Joshua Battle

Level 15
Joshua Kay
Joshua Kay

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Action was picked up on the flop in a hand between Joshua Kay in the cutoff and Joshua Ray in the big blind.

The flop read 84J and Ray moved all in for 38,000 and Kay called to put Ray at risk.

Joshua Ray: 7443 All in
Joshua Kay: AA97

Ray had flopped bottom set while Kay had flopped the nut flush draw and a gutter. The turn 10 gave Kay the straight and left Ray looking to improve his hand with a board pair, or to make a low and survive. The river Q changed nothing and Kay raked in the pot while Ray was eliminated from the tournament.

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Daniel Negreanu was in the middle of recounting a big hand to his phone when another big hand emerged, kicking off with Jacob Babins raising to 8,000 in the cutoff.

"Gotta go!" Negreanu said as he dropped the selfie stick and announced "pot" to 30,000. Jean Kabbaj then flatted in the big blind as Babins got out of the way.

"Are you going high or middle?" Kabbaj asked Negreanu.

"Yeah, I'm going middle!" Negreanu replied sarcastically.

The flop landed 889 and Kabbaj checked. Negreanu bet pot for 76,000 and Kabbaj called. Kabbaj then led all in for 51,000 on the 3 turn and Negreanu called.

Jean Kabbaj: AJ72 All in
Daniel Negreanu: AAK6

Negreanu was ahead with aces and stayed that way for an elimination as the Q river landed to confirm Kabbaj's elimination.

Negreanu then picked his selfie stick back up and went back to recounting the previous hand.

Harmetz Plays the Wrong Game; Rakuss Benefits

Level 15

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Eduards Rakuss opened to 11,000 from under the gun before Daniel Harmetz three-bet to 34,000 from the cutoff, and Rakuss called.

Both players drew one as Rakuss checked it over to Harmetz who checked back after some deliberation.

Eduards Rakuss: 9x8x4x3x2x
Daniel Harmetz: AxKxKx7x7x

Harmetz was under the impression that he was playing five card draw, and his two pair was no good against the nine of Rakuss who benefited from the mistake.

"At least you didn't value bet," one of his tablemates joked.
