Levels 1-6 are 40 minutes long, Levels 7-15 increase to 60 minutes, and Levels 16 on are 90 minutes in duration. The structure starts with 500-1,000 limits in Level 1 and gradually climbs to 3,000-6,000 by the end of today.
Play resumes on Day 2, Tuesday, at 1 p.m., with eight more levels on the schedule. Day 3 will play down to a winner, with the exact start time still to be announced.
The reigning champion from 2024's edition is Arash Ghaneian, who took down a field of 167 players to claim his second WSOP bracelet and a $376,476 payday. He outlasted a tough final table that included fellow bracelet winners Michael Rocco, Todd Brunson, and Eric Wasserson.
“We came in today, we battled,” Ghaneian told PokerNews after his win. “When the limits went that high, you know, I talked to him right after dinner and said, ‘Hey, this could go either way.’ And the cards fell my way at the end, and I’m grateful to win the second [bracelet].”
