Todd's Patience Pays

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alex Todd
Alex Todd

Alex Todd shoved all in and Rudy Cervantes was deciding whether he should make the call for all of his remaining 300,000 chips.

The board read K3Q4J, with Todd firing the big bet from the hijack. Cervantes had led the betting until the river.

Cervantes made the call and got the bad news. Todd, who claimed he had gone a full two hours without winning a hand, showed 86, hitting the flush on the river.

On his way out, Cervantes flashed K10.

Silverman Doubles Through Hill

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Stephen Silverman open-jammed for around 110,000 and got a single call from Thomas Hill in the big blind, who had him covered.

Stephen Silverman: Q8All in
Thomas Hill: J7

Hill saw a seven on the 574 flop, but Silverman picked up a queen on the Q turn.

The A river didn't change anything and Silverman survived.

Gini Grants Himself His Three Wishes

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Paulo Gini found himself in late position with just over four big blinds, as he shoved for his remaining 84,000. Justin Turner looked at his cards in the big blind, shrugged, and called.

Paulo Gini: 33 All in
Justin Turner: K10

"Uh oh," said Gini as he saw a king in the window, but the full flop proved that a Gini always does things in threes, as he flopped a set on 3QK. Turner's backdoor draws didn't come in on the 84 runout, as his adversary stayed alive in the Deepstack.

Heads up and in middle position, Luke Tatum bet 30,000 on a flop of QJJ and a pot of around 130,000. Jianqiang Yu decided to stay on to see the next card with a call.

The turn 8 and Tatum continued the pressure with 100,000 which was enough to push Yu out of the hand.

Chris Moneymaker Eliminated Early from 2025 WSOP Main Event

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker’s Main Event run has come to an early end, for this year at least, after a dramatic full-house-over-full-house clash on Day 1a.

Moneymaker got involved in a deep river spot and ultimately made the call, but ran straight into a cooler. It's a tough exit for the 2003 WSOP Main Event champion.

Tedla's River Bet Takes the Pot

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

After action was checked to him in a heads-up match, Berkeley Yuan fired 55,000 into a pot of 100,000 on a flop of 637. Meraf Tedla called to see the turn.

The dealer peeled the turn 4 and both players checked. On the river 3, Tedla took the initiative and shot out 150,000 making Yuan stare at him a bit. Yuan gave up his hand after a few seconds and the pot to Tedla.

Rios Makes Impressive Call

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Dorian Rios and Ben Miller engaged in one of the wildest hands of the tournament thus far.

Rios, on the button, raised to 200,000 preflop. Miller called.

The flop hit 1053, drawing a 225,000-chip bet from Rios, and another call from Miller.

The 5 fell on the turn, and Rios again fired, this time 340,000. Miller came over the top, all in, with more than a million chips in his stack.

Rios went into the tank for some time before flipping in a chip to call and slamming down J10 for a pair of tens. Miller showed 88.

The 2 river meant nothing, leading to a jubilant Rios celebration as the dealer counted out the 802,000 chips Miller had to match from Rios' all-in call.

"Don't bluff me, don't ever bluff me," he exclaimed.

Silverman Sent Down the Hill

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Play was already three-handed with two players all in. Stephen Silverman was under the gun and at risk with around 100,000 remaining and Thomas Hill was all in from middle position for around 153,000. Lukas Misteli was in late position and covered both players stacks.

Stephen Silverman: AJAll in
Thomas Hill: AQAll in
Lukas Misteli: KK

Hill flopped well on the Q67 board, and the Q turn only improved him further.

Hill saw the near triple up after the 10 river was placed, and Misteli took the side pot, leaving Silverman eliminated from the tournament.
