After Darrin Oremba doubled through the same player a few hands before, he found himself in an all-in situation with Quentin Girardet again, this time with Girardet at risk.

The flop came down safe for Girardet with 3♦7♠2♠. But Oremba hit the K♠ on the turn, giving him a better pair. The 3♣ river sealed the deal for Oremba, and after losing two big hands, Girardet was eliminated while Oremba secured a spot in the top chip counts in the current state of the tournament.

Event #83: $2,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em on Friday at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) began with controversy, PokerNews Podcast co-host Mike Holtz, who witnessed the wild incident at his table, explained.

Two players began Day 2 with the wrong stack, and one of those players quickly doubled up before anyone realized the error. The bracelet event attracted 1,299 players, and 247 bagged chips late Thursday night. The bubble burst with the 196th-place finisher at around 2:30 p.m. PT.

Shuo Song lost a huge pot that left him with five big blinds just before his table broke. Song, possibly believing he had busted out of the tournament, walked away without racking his chips and didn't move to his new seat.

Meanwhile, his chips sat in for two rotations before he blinded out.

The hand he blinded out on was big one, as Wai Kit Lo and James Kim battled over chips.

Kim raised the invisible blind players — Antonio Guerrero, who was in the big blind, was late returning from the break — to 500,000. Lo called.

The flop came 2♣K♥9♥ and Kim fired a bet of 1,000,000 chips. Lo called again.

The turn of the 3♦ drew a check from Kim. Lo thought for some time, then bet 2,000,000. Kim folded.
