Duffy Flops a Boat for Full Double

Level 38 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Ciaran Duffy raised to 2,400,000 on the button and was called by Yansong Kou and Quinterol Mallette in the blinds. The trio checked the K♠K♥9♦ flop and the 10♥ followed on the turn. Kou bet 4,000,000 and Mallette folded while Duffy called with only 8,800,000 behind.

Kou then slowly prepared a bet on the river, adding chips one by one until she had around 6,000,000 in her hand while glancing at the stack of her opponent. However, no bet followed as she opted to check. Duffy then moved all in and Kou tank-called.

Duffy rolled over the K♦9♥ for a flopped full house and Kou's A♥10♦ were no good.

Giuseppe Zarbo kicked things off with a raise from under the gun to 3,000,000. Action folded to Jonathan Stoeber in the small blind, where he took a moment before he announced his all-in. Everybody went out of the way, and Zarbo made a snap call.

Zarbo's tournament life was at risk, but the board ran out 3♦5♣6♣4♠5♠ and his kings held, allowing him to make a decent double-up shortly before the break.

Jihoon Kim was all in from early position with his final 2,500,000 chips. Quinterol Mallette was the first to call from the hijack.

Ionannis Panagopoulos in the small blind and Alexander Holmes in the big blind made calls as well.

The flop hit 4♦5♠Q♣. Mallette bet 3,000,000. Panagopoulos and Holmes folded.

Ciaran Duffy raised to 2,400,000 from an early position and Ioannis Panagopoulos called from the big blind to check the 10♦9♣5♦ flop. Duffy continued for 1,700,000 and that won the pot for Duffy.

"I wasn't expecting a fold," he joked before raking in the pot.

In the 904th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Kyna England, and Mike Holtz are joined by Grosvenor Poker Pro Jamie Nixon at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to talk about the latest from the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP). That includes the WSOP's controversial decision regarding the alleged Millionaire Maker chip dumping between Jesse Yaginuma and James Carroll, which may or may not include lifetime bans. It's a lively debate that examines the situation from multiple angles, including the likely involvement of the Nevada Gaming Commission.

They then take a look at a controversial hand posted by Lexy Gavin-Mather where a dealer error that may have brought a much-needed seven out of the muck had the poker world talking. From there, the trio highlight the historic win by Shiina Okamoto, who successfully defended her Ladies Event title after finishing runner-up three years ago. She also had to put up with Phil Hellmuth Jr., for better or worse, as the crew debated. That wasn't the only historic win, as Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi won the prestigious $50,000 Poker Players Championship for an unbelievable fourth time. Toss in the first gold bracelet won by Darren Elias, and there were some big winners to be celebrated.

Jamie Nixon then talks about Grosvenor Poker and the upcoming Goliath in Coventry, how his buddy is running a daily bracket of funny poker names, and then Chad explains why there's a giant cutout of Espan Jorstad's head on the set (Hint: it came from the recent GTOWizard party).
