The Stage is Set: Day 1d of $10,000 WSOP Main Event Kicks Off at Noon
Welcome back to the PokerNews coverage of the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Today, the masses will gather as the Day 1d flight of Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event No-Limit Hold'em World Championship begins at noon local time. Hosted at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas, Day 1d historically draws the largest crowd of all Day 1 flights, and all signs point to this trend continuing.
The flagship event of the WSOP has already seen 3,697 poker heroes, high rollers, and hopefuls come through the doors to try and write their own story into the poker history books. Of those, 2,681 battled their way through their respective starting flights and will continue their quest for poker immortality on Day 2abc on Sunday, July 6, at noon local time.
When those who enter today look to the top of the leaderboard for inspiration, it will be Andriy Lyubovetskiy’s name they see in the lights. Bagging up a mammoth 392,400 stack on Day 1c, the two-time bracelet winner will begin Day 2abc with 491 big blinds.
Completing the current podium of Day 1 big stacks are Bin Weng (354,800) and Victor Vo (352,000). Weng, like the chip leader, accumulated his chips on Day 1c, whereas Vo topped the Day 1a leaderboard.

Day 1b chip leader was none other than seven-time bracelet winner, and 2010 Main Event "November Niner," Michael Mizrachi. Returning with a stack of 297,000, Mizrachi is looking to create history and become the first player to win the Poker Players Championship and the Main Event in the same year.
Other notable names in the field include Calvin Anderson (230,200), Max Steinberg (180,000), Mike Matusow (158,200), Vanessa Selbst (155,200), Daniel Negreanu (122,500) and Stephen Chidwick (51,600).
From the opening three flights, there were also five main event champions who punched their tickets to Day 2. Scott Blumstein (99,200), Qui Nguyen (94,500), Phil Hellmuth (85,000), Greg Merson (47,300) and Robert Varkonyi (27,400) will take their seats in the Day 2abc flight.
Each player will begin the day with 60,000 chips and play through five 120-minute levels before the surviving players bag up their stacks for the night. Breaks are scheduled after every level, including a 75-minute dinner break following Level 3 at around 6:40 p.m. Players who make it through Day 1d will return on Monday, July 7, for Day 2d alongside any new entrants who have yet to enter any previous flight.

Registration will remain open through the first two levels of Day 2, with no reentries allowed in this freezeout event. The tournament runs over two weeks and will conclude with the final day of play on Wednesday, July 16.
