A Bit of Magic by Merlin
Pierre Merlin opened from early position to 900, and was promptly three-bet by Jesse Freeman to 2,400 in the hijack. The player in the cutoff called, but when action returned to Merlin, he put in a four-bet to 9,000. Freeman called, but the cutoff folded.
The dealer then spread a flop of J♦Q♠5♥, and Merlin started with a check. Freeman took over the betting lead, putting 5,000 into the middle. He was immediately dismayed with the decision, though, as Merlin check-raised all-in for 29,700.
To make matters worse for Freeman, while he was trying to piece the puzzle together, an uninvolved player called the clock on him. This particular trouble was eased when the floor staff agreed he hadn't yet had a reasonable amount of time to make a decision, and no clock was started.
After another minute passed, Freeman made the call and received the bad news.
Pierre Merlin: Q♦J♣
Jesse Freeman: K♠K♦
Freeman had been outflopped by Merlin and would need some help if he were to win the pot.
The turn A♣ offered some extra outs, but the river 7♥ kept Merlin in the lead, securing him a double up.
