Defeo Finds a Double
Level 9
: Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Brian Zeid raised to 3,000 from the cutoff, and Gregory Defeo called from the big blind.
The dealer fanned a 5♦4♣10♣ flop, on which Defeo check-called a bet of 4,500.
Zied continued with a bet of 6,500 on the 4♠ turn, but an undeterred Defeo called once more.
When the river came the 3♦, Defeo opted to take over the betting lead, moving all in for 21,000. Zied sat back in his chair to rethink the action and decided a call was in order.
It was bad news for Zied, as Defeo had rivered a straight with his 7♣6♥. Zied's hand was returned to the muck, and Defeo was paid his double-up.
