Bateman Doubles with Aces

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Craig Bateman started the action with a raise to 3,000 from middle position. Play then folded around to Carlos Lucero in the small blind, who put in a three-bet to 10,000. When the action returned to Bateman, he took a moment or two before moving all in for 42,000.

Lucero didn't seem to like the situation he had found himself in. He took stock of his stack, reconfirmed the count of the all-in stack, before taking some more time to decide. After a couple of minutes, he made the call and received instant bad news.

Craig Bateman: AA All in
Carlos Lucero: AQ

There was no help to be found for Lucero as the dealer delivered a 29358 board to the felt, any Bateman was duly paid his double-up.
