Cross Gets a Shove Through; Putz Tests DiMascio's Nerves

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 943, Arnaud Mattern bet 30,000 from early position and Paul Cross called on the button.

The turn was the Q and Mattern bet another 85,000. Cross then moved all in for 405,000 and Mattern spent several minutes in the tank before folding.

At another table, Dong Chen had opened to 24,000 in early position before Paul DiMascio three-bet to 100,000 in middle position. Andreas Putz then moved all in for 172,000 in the big blind and Chen folded, but DiMascio called to put him at risk.

Andreas Putz: AK All in
Paul DiMascio: AK

Both players showed the same hand and were poised to chop the pot as the flop came 83K. The 5 fell on the turn and Putz was suddenly freerolling to a flush as the table let out a collective gasp, but the river was a harmless 9.

"My nervous system can't handle that," DiMascio said after the hand.
