Gardes Makes Montes Think
Level 21
: Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Josselin Gardes raised from early position with K♥J♠ to 50,000 and Santiago Montes called in the cutoff holding Q♠10♠.
They saw a flop of J♣Q♣K♣, where Gardes continued with a bet of 50,000 and Montes called to see the 4♠ hit the turn. Gardes didn't slow down and threw out 130,000, and again Montes called.
The 6♦ on the river was a brick, and with 315,000 behind, Gardes shoved with his two pair. Montes contemplated for a while and even apologized to the table for taking so long.
"Sorry guys, just one minute more,", he said, but eventually mucked his hand, allowing Gardes to rake in the pot.
