Wysotchanski Tangles With Grupp
A seizable pot had built to the Q♣7♣2♣8♦9♣ river on which Wagner Wysotchanski in the small blind and Kyle Grupp in the cutoff both banged their fists on the table. That came moments after Wysotchanski had bet 650,000 and after a mere thirty seconds to think for Grupp, Wysotchanski already wanted to call the clock on him.
What followed was a tank of four minutes during which both players actively engaged in lengthy table chat back and forth.
Wysotchanski first suggested that he may have hit a straight with jack-ten before adding "I love playing seven deuce as well".
Grupp suspected that Wysotchanski may have had aces with the ace of clubs.
"I will let you pick one, hope you pick the right one," Wysotchanski suggested as he was still all smiles.
Francis Anderson then announced that he would be calling the clock in another thirty seconds.
"No Francis, give him 68 minutes [what was left on the clock for this level]," Wysotchanski instantly exclaimed.
The floor arrived and the thirty seconds ran down without a decision, the hand of Grupp was dead. Wysotchanski raked in the pot with a smirk ... and did not show any of the cards or let Grupp pick one.
