Buckingham Picks Off Vecino; Wins a Monster Off DiMascio

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Richard Buckingham and Juan Carlos Vecino checked to the turn on a board of KQ26 in a blind versus blind battle before Buckingham led out for 150,000. Vecino called and the 2 fell on the river.

Buckingham then bet 200,000, but this time Vecino raised to 500,000. "I have a good hand," Buckingham said as he took a few minutes before calling.

Vecino showed AQ for top pair, but Buckingham had Q6 for queens and sixes to win the pot.

The hand before, Buckingham had taken out Paul DiMascio in a massive pot and filled in the details. DiMascio had opened to 85,000 from early position and Buckingham defended his big blind.

The flop brought 4x3x2x and DiMascio continued for 160,000. Buckingham called and a 5x fell on the turn. DiMascio then moved all in for 1,800,000.

"I couldn't believe he did it. I feel bad for him, because I know he has the ace," Buckingham explained, saying he called with 6x4x for a straight while DiMascio had Ax9x and was sent to the rail.
