Chen Runs into a Set; Kassouf Rocks Up Late
Will Kassouf's seat was empty for the first hand of the day, making it a quick one for the players at the table. Kohei Arai opened to 120,000 from middle position but folded after Ruben Costa jammed for 815,000 from the next seat over.
On the next deal, Sam Darkin opened to 125,000 from the hijack, with the action folding to Yuhang Chen in the small blind. He made it 500,000. Darkin stuck around to see the A♦10♠6♥ flop, and he called Chen's bet of 325,000. Chen fired out another 1,000,000 on the 8♠ turn, and Darkin called to set up a big pot in the early goings.
With around a million behind, Chen checked when the Q♦ river completed the board. Darkin announced all-in as the covering stack.
As Chen mulled over his options, Kassouf finally turned up.
"Morning, better late than ever," said Kassouf, who continued to talk while Chen was in the tank.
Chen eventually called, but was shown the bad news as Darkin turned a set with 8♦8♣, besting Chen's A♣K♠.
"Whoops, casualty already and I haven't event sat down yet," chimed Kassouf as he got out his phone to film the board, almost putting his device in Chen's face.
"They're dusting off already," Kassouf continued as he took his seat.
