Daniel Iachan opened the action with a raise to 800,000 from early position, and Kohei Arai responded by moving all in from the hijack for 4,975,000 with A8. Theo Tran reshoved over the top for 6,900,000 holding AK, putting Arai at risk. Iachan got out of the way, and the cards went on their backs.

The board ran out 82535, pairing Arai’s eight on the flop and holding through to the river. Tran, despite having the better hand preflop, was left with just crumbs as Arai secured a much-needed double to stay alive in the tournament.
