Pardy Takes From Dean

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jon Pardy
Jon Pardy

Donovan Dean opened to 1,200 from late position and Vincent Napolitano called on the button. In the small blind, Jon Pardy raised to 4,600 and both Dean and Napolitano called.

"I should have just made it 4,500," Pardy joked after the fact as the change making took a little longer.

The flop rolled out A38 and Pardy kept with the theme and bet 4,500 to see only Dean continue.

Pardy sized up to 13,000 on the 4 turn and Dean called once more, with both players checking the K river.

At showdown, Pardy turned over A10 for a pair of aces with a ten and Dean mucked his hand.

Oden Picks Off a Massive Bluff to Double

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Takehiko Nakajima opened to 1,500 from early position, Miguel Coussement three-bet to 4,700 from middle position, Daniel Oden called in the cutoff and Nakajima folded.

The flop came 376. Coussement checked and Oden bet 4,700. Coussement check-raised to 17,000 and Oden called.

Coussement continued for 30,000 on the Q turn and Oden called again. On the 7 river Coussement shoved, covering Oden who had 33,800 behind. Oden called off for his tournament life.

Coussement could only show a bluff with J8. Oden tabled the nut-flush with AK to score the double-up through Coussement.

Kliper Springs the Trap

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was joined with 11,400 already in the pot, and Arie Kliper and Joshua Remitio looking at a 548 flop.

Kliper, who was in early position, had checked to Remitio, on the button, who placed a bet of 6,000. Kliper called, and the two players headed to a turn.

The dealer put out the 5 turn, and playing in flow, Kliper checked. Remitio continued to barrel, putting out 20,000, but was met with an immediate check-raise to 45,000.

Remitio folded almost immediately, and Kliper welcomed his new chips into his growing stack.

Evenhouse Takes Lei's Final Chip

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Yuan Lei only had a stack of 2,700, and raised for almost all of it under the gun, leaving a single chip behind. Action folded to Jeffrey Evenhouse in the big blind, who put in a raise, committing Lei's remaining chip.

Lei called, and both players flipped their cards over.

Yuan Lei: A5 All in
Jeffrey Evenhouse: AJ

Although Lei flopped a straight draw on the 943 flop, the turn 7 and river K were unable to save him.

The friendly table all said their goodbyes, and Lei headed to the exit.
