Kurtzman Doubles, Martin Eliminated

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Eben Kurtzman
Eben Kurtzman

As Shane Martin was heading out of the tournament area, having been eliminated, his vanquisher, Eben Kurtzman, recalled the action that led to his demise.

Martin raised to 600, and Kurtzman called from the big blind.

On a flop of 910Q, Kurtzman checked and Martin continued for a bet of 1,000. Kurtzman then check-raised to 2,000, but that didn't put an end to the raising. Martin responded with another raise to 7,000, to which Kurtzman responded by moving all in for 59,300.

Martin was the covered player by a couple of thousand and made the call.

Shane Martin: KJ All in
Eben Kurtzman: 109

Kurtzman was in trouble, with his opponent having flopped a straight versus his two pair. He was unable to find any help on the 6 turn, but the river 10 came to his rescue, improving him to a full house and sending Martin to the exit.

Ali Fills Up For a Big Pot Off Mermell

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Ihab Ali
Ihab Ali

Around 15,000 was already in the pot as Ihab Ali and Clifford Mermell went to the turn on a board of J107A.

Ali then bet 6,100 from the big blind, and Mermell called in the hijack. The river was the A and Ali bet 10,100. Mermell again quickly called.

Ali showed 1010 for a full house, and Mermell mucked AK.

"Couldn't get away from that," Mermell lamented as Ali raked in the big pot.

Fernando Romano, who lost most of his stack to Robert Zeidman's quads earlier, was recently eliminated.

Assorted Counts From Horseshoe Red

Crane Parks Parsons

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Players were already on the river looking at 542A7 board. The pot stood at around 14,000.

Sebastian Crane was in middle position and bet 8,200. Jake Parsons moved all in from the cutoff for his remaining 37,100, only just covering Crane.

Crane took less than a minute, but made the call, putting himself at risk of an early elimination.

Sebastian Crane showed KJ and Jake Parsons flipped over AK.

Parson's pair of aces didn't stand up to Crane's flush, and he was left with just 1,100 to play with.

In the next hand, Michael Hager opened from middle position to 800 and Sergi Reixach called from late position.

Parsons moved all in for his last 1,1000 and Evgeni Tourevski called from the cutoff. Rene Majed called from the small blind, and so did the remaining players who called the initial bet. A player at the table commended to Parsons, "Well you are getting some value, good luck mate".

The J6K flop saw Hager check and Reixach bet, with only Majed calling.

The 9 turn was checked to the 3 river and Majed bet 4,000 which saw Reixach fold, leaving him to go heads-up to showdown with Parsons.

Jake Parsons: 88All in
Rene Majed: J9

Majed took the pot, leaving Parsons to be eliminated from the freezeout.

"That Was Stressful"; Britton, Correia Chop Up Rudnicki

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Simon Britton, Ruben Correia, and Czesy Rudnicki went to the turn on a board of 4256 when Correia bet 5,000 from under the gun. Rudnicki called in middle position before Britton raised to 14,000 in the hijack.

Correia came back with an all-in shove for 48,600, and Rudnicki also moved all in for his last 35,000.

"What the f**k? What is that?" a stunned Britton yelled out as he asked for a count of the stacks. A large crowd began to gather around the table, while some players at the table, including Michael Mizrachi, began to film the action. Britton eventually called.

Correia had A3 for a straight, while Britton also had the straight with 33. Rudnicki needed to improve with 77 but missed the 9 river as he headed to the rail, while Correia and Britton chopped the pot.

"That was stressful," Britton said.

Moses Sends Safieddine Out With Rockets

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Francois Safieddine was already all in for approximately 41,000 preflop from the big blind against David Moses, who had Safieddine slightly covered from early position.

Francois Safieddine: AJAll in
David Moses: AA

It was the worst possible scenario for Safieddine, and the 24Q5J runout kept Moses's aces best to eliminate Safieddine from the Main Event.

Lipman Loses It All

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Picking up the action on a 5729 turn, Sanjay Lal checked from the hijack to Lawrence Lipman on the button. Lipman promptly shoved all in for 18,400, a slight over-bet to the pot of 16,000.

After a few minutes in the tank, Lal called off to put Lipman at risk of an early elimination.

Lawrence Lipman: A7 All in
Sanjay Lal: JJ

Lipman needed an ace, seven, or diamond to appear on the river, but the 10 emerged from the deck instead.

Lipman shook hands with his neighbors before he departed the tournament area as his Main Event run came to an early end.
