Blenkarn Turns Broadway to Leave Pearl Steaming

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Dylan Kahn opened to 1,400 from under the gun and was three-bet to 4,200 by Jeffrey Blenkarn from directly behind. Kim Wittendorff called cold from middle position, Richard Pearl called cold from the small blind, and Kahn called as well for a hefty four-way pot.

Everyone checked on the Q2J flop and it was checked again to Blenkarn, who bet 7,200. Wittendorf and Kahn folded, but Pearl called.

The 8 completed the board and Pearl checked a final time, prompting a 7,600 bet from Blenkarn.

Pearl snap-called and Blenkarn tabled AK for Broadway.

Pearl showed he held QQ for a flopped set of queens before sending them into muck.

"You had four outs....four outs," Pearl fumed as Blenkarn collected the pot.

Cristea Can't Figure it Out

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Sorin Cristea raised in middle position to 1,600 and immediately faced a three-bet from David Diaz, one seat to his left. Diaz had made it 5,000, and when action folded back to Cristea, he made the call.

Both players checked the 97J flop before Cristea check-called a bet of 3,500 on the 7 turn.

When the 10 river was dealt, Cristea checked again. Diaz followed up on his turn bet with another, this time for 10,000.

Cristea spent some time in the tank, going back and forth between call and fold. He picked up the chips, looking like he was going to call, but reluctantly folded instead.

Diaz kept quiet as he pulled in the pot, giving nothing away.

Bin Weng
Bin Weng

“You’ve just missed one of the craziest hands on a Day 1,” a player at Table #479 told PokerNews. According to him, with help from others at the table, Scott Kahler opened from the cutoff and Bin Weng three-bet to 6,000 from the small blind.

Weng checked the 764 flop and Kahler bet 4,500. Weng called, then check-called again for 21,000 on the 4 turn.

After Weng checked the A river, Kahler moved all-in for roughly 120,000. Weng tanked for a long time before making the call and say: “You guys don’t know who I am!”

What stunned his tablemates was that Weng called with 73 for two pair. But it turned out to be the right call, as Kahler only held KxJ. He was eliminated and quickly left the room.
