Zeng Coolers Cabrini for the KO

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Linglin Zeng
Linglin Zeng

Action picked up on the turn with a little over 8,000 in the middle in a hand between Andre Cabrini from the small blind and Linglin Zeng from the big blind.

With the board reading A97Q, Cabrini led for 5,000 before Zeng min-raised to 10,000. Cabrini then shoved for his remaining 22,500 and Zeng snapped it off.

Andre Cabrini: 97 All in
Linglin Zeng: 99

It was a brutal cooler with Cabrini flopping two pair, only to be drawing dead against Zeng's set of nines. The two saw the irrelevant 5 on the river as Cabrini left the room in unfortunate fashion.

No Slowing Down from Nadal

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

John Petro kicked the action off with a raise to 2,500 from the hijack. Jose Nadal followed by putting his big stack to use, three-betting to 8,000 on the button. Action folded back to Petro, who made the call.

The dealer spread a 10KJ flop, and when Petro checked in flow, Nadal continued for 6,300. Again, Petro called.

There was no sign of easing off the pressure from Nadal on the 5 turn. Petro checked to him once more, and this time Nadal put a more substantial bet of 26,200 into the middle.

That was enough to see Petro return his cards to the dealer, surrendering the pot.

Slowplay Gone Wrong for Rocco Against Yaroshevskyy

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Anthony Bakri opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Lucas Cortijo two to his left, Michael Rocco from middle position, and Igor Yaroshevskyy in the big blind.

The 754 flop checked through to the 7 turn which saw Yaroshevskyy lead for 7,000. Bakri and Cortijo quickly folded before Rocco put in the call after a small tank.

The 8 river then checked through as Yaroshevskyy tabled 86 for the flopped straight. Rocco revealed that he had KK as his slowplay cost him the pot and Yaroshevskyy was the one to collect.

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jonathan Jaffe
Jonathan Jaffe

Cards where already on their backs with Aaron Thivyanathan all in for his remaining 33,000 in the cutoff and up against Jonathan Jaffe in late position.

Aaron Thivyanathan: AKAll in
Jonathan Jaffe: A10

Thivyanathan was ahead, and he held on the 2J5 flop.

The 5 fell on the turn and Thivyanathan was looking good for a double up.

Things changed for Thivyanathan when the 10 came on the river as it gave Jaffe two pair, and Thivyanathan was sent to the rail midway through the second day of the tournament.

Roberts Doubles Through Theologis

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With around 16,000 in the middle and a board of Q43A on the felt, Alexandros Theologis and Reginald Roberts were heads-up in a hand. After Roberts threw in a bet on the turn, Theologis ripped all in as the bigger stack. It didn't take long for Roberts to call off his stack of 57,000 and the cards were tabled.

Roberts flipped over AQ for two pair and Theologis had a combo draw with 85. It was the 9 on the river that bricked out and Roberts held on for a double up.

Jacks No Good for Dillion

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Anthony Diotte raised from middle position to 2,600, and Brian Dillion tossed out just enough to be classified as a minimum raise, meaning to just call. The floor was called, and it was deemed a minimum raise to 4,000.

Diotte then went into the tank and four-bet to 9,000. Dillion instantly moved all in, and Diotte snap called.

No help came for Dillion on the Q3A310 runout, and he was sent to the rail.

Huang Sends Kébé Home

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Jimmy Kébé didn't have many chips left, but he moved them all in from the big blind. Wenxin Huang called from the small blind.

Jimmy Kébé: QJAll in
Wenxin Huang: 66

Neither of Kébé's overcards paired up and his hopes for a flush didn't pan out either on a runout of 8K943, so the former professional soccer player was sent to the exit.

Fujie Doubles Through Blumenthal

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Eddie Blumenthal
Eddie Blumenthal

Eddie Blumenthal kicked the action off with a raise to 2,500 from middle position. A couple of seats to his left, Toru Fujie responded with a three-bet to 8,000. Action then returned to Blumenthal, who didn't take much time before moving all in, having his opponents stack well covered. Fujie made the call, and the players put the cards on their backs.

Toru Fujie: AK All in
Eddie Blumenthal: JJ

The dealer burned and turned, bringing a 982 flop, keeping Blumenthal's lead intact.

When the turn brought the 9, Fujie had one foot out the door. However, the river K saw him take the lead and settle back into his seat with twice as many chips.

Bunch of Bustouts

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The tournament clock currently shows a tally of 9,735 total entries across four starting flights and an additional two levels on each of the Day 2 flights. It also dictates a prizepool of over $92,500,000 but these numbers are still being confirmed. That would mean a total of 777 late entries were recorded on Day 2d throughout the late registration period. It can be confirmed that just 3,420 players are still remaining in this flight with an additional two levels to be played after the dinner break.
