Deevara Flops Two Pair to Double Through Matusow

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mike Matusow raised to 22,000 in the hijack and was called by Kenny Hallaert and Rahul Deevara in the blinds. The flop came Q74 and the action checked to Matusow who continued with a bet of 30,000. Hallaert just called and Deevara ripped all in for 143,000. Matusow quickly called and Hallaert got out of the way.

Rahul Deevara: Q7All in
Mike Matusow: AQ

Deevara flopped two pair to hold a big lead over Matusow who just had top pair. The 3 and 2 runout changed nothing and Matusow was forced to pass over half of his stack.

From the button, Anthony Hugenberg opened to 20,000, and Lindsey McDougall called from the small blind. Peter Park squeezed it up to 85,000 from the big blind, forcing Hugenberg to fold quickly. McDougall pondered briefly and then jammed for 180,000. Park immediately called.

Lindsey McDougall: KQ All in
Peter Park: AK

McDougall was in rough shape against the Big Slick of Park. However, the Q54 flop gave her top pair and a commanding lead in the hand. The dealer revealed the J on the turn and 5 on the river, cementing McDougall's double-up through Park.

Mauricio Salazar Sanchez
Mauricio Salazar Sanchez

Narongsak Dhanjaichon was down to just 90,000 chips and pushed all in from middle position. Javier Etayo flat-called in the hijack and Mauricio Salazar Sanchez reshoved all in from the big blind for around 360,000. Etayo gave it some thought but decided to send his cards into the muck.

Mauricio Salazar Sanchez: AA

The flop came 1093 and Salazar Sanchez was still holding strong with his pocket aces. The J rolled off on the turn to give Dhanjaichon a set of jacks but it was the A on the river that gave Salazar Sanchez a better set for the elimination.

Le Stuns Pollak on the River; Demaci Puts in a Big Shove on Butters

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Hieu Le
Hieu Le

Hieu Le was in middle position with a raise of 60,000 in front of him before Craig Pollak moved all in for 337,000 on the button. Le called to put him at risk.

Craig Pollak: 77 All in
Hieu Le: AK

Pollak remained in the lead with his sevens on the 2910 flop, while the Q turn gave Le a straight draw to go with his overcards. Le spiked the J on the river to make his straight and send Pollak to the rail.

At the same time at another table, Christopher Demaci and Samuel Butters saw the turn on a board of 3J89 with around 300,000 in the pot. Demaci then moved all in.

"You're a PLO player, right?" Butters asked as he went into the tank while considering the decision for his last 500,000.

While Butters was pondering making the call, Alex Bergfors told his tablemates how he wants to be remembered. "If that asteroid hits tomorrow, I want to be right here bluffing off my stack. And if the bluff gets through, I'll say let's go. A million years from now they'll discover a fossil and say, 'there is the guy who got the last bluff in at the 2025 World Series of Poker," Bergfors said.

Meanwhile, Butters eventually folded and Demaci took down the pot without a showdown.

Slight Edge

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With around 125,000 already in the pot and the board reading 268J6, Antoine Berruel and David Kaufmann were locked in a heads-up showdown.

Berruel, sitting in the hijack, led out for 80,000. Kaufmann, in the cutoff, went into the tank before eventually making the call.

Berruel revealed A8 for two pair, eights and sixes, but Kaufmann turned over 99 for the higher two pair, nines and sixes, and raked in the pot.

Jang Triples Up, Chen Left with Three Bigs

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action was picked up with three players - Hyunsick Jang in cutoff all in for 167,000, Huabao Chen in the big blind all in for 184,000, and Kevin Nee in the small blind who covered both players.

Hyunsick Jang: KK All in
Huabao Chen: AQ
Kevin Nee: 64

The dealer flopped 8102 which kept Jang's lead but gave Nee a flush draw. Chen was still hoping to hit his ace, but the turn K gave Jang a set, strengthening his lead.

Chen, however, did pick up additional outs with a straight draw, while Nee was still waiting for a diamond to fall.

The river 8 cemented Jang's triple up with a full house.

A very small side pot of 34,000 went to Chen, but he got eliminated a few hands later.

Antonio Galiana raised to 20,000 under the gun, Goh Yanagida called in the hijack, and Tom Middleton called in the big blind.

Middleton continued his aggression on the 10 with a bet of 225,000, Galiana called.

Middleton emptied the clip on the 6 with a shove of 425,000, Galiana went deep into the tank and eventually flicked in a chip to call, but saw that his opponent rivered three of a kind with 65, Galiana frustratingly mucked.

Confusion, Rulings and Exposed Cards

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Vinicius Camargo
Vinicius Camargo

It was immediate action on Table 531 in the Main Event.

When the under-the-gun player folded, the dealer pulled in his cards, but also accidentally pulled in the cards of the small blind player, as he was stacking chips from the previous hand and hadn't yet 'protected his cards'.

The next player to act, Jon Kyte, put in a raise to 22,000, but as he did this, the players at the table believed the hand to be a misdeal. The confusion at the table led to Vinicius Camargo sharing his cards with the players sitting next to him, exposing pocket jacks, as he believed he was about to return them to the dealer.

Queue the floor being called. A tournament official arrived, took stock of the action and made a ruling:

1. Because there had been action, the hand wasn't a misdeal.
2. Camargo's hand wasn't dead, but as he had shown two players, he must expose his cards to the whole table.

He turned over JJ.

The hand was now ready to resume, and action was on Camargo, still facing the raise of 22,000.

Camargo responded with a three-bet to 55,000, before one seat to his left, Max Pinnola, four-bet all in for 146,000.

The action returned to Kyte, who folded, and back to Camargo.

Camargo went deep into the tank, knowing that his opponent knew his hand, and still elected to move all in.

After some time, he chose to call anyway.

Max Pinnola: AQ All in
Vinicius Camargo: JJ

The dealer provided a 224K8 board, which was no help to Pinnola; and as he gathered his belongings and left, the rest of the table discussed the very unique hand they had just been a part of.
