Freitas Raises With the Best Hand

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Richard Freitas
Richard Freitas

Richard Freitas opened to 1,000,000 with the KQ for Diego Ponce in the small blind with 44 and Daehyung Lee in the big blind with J7 to call. They checked the A108 flop to the K turn on which Lee bet 1,500,000 with his double gutshot. Freitas raised to 4,200,000 to force out Ponce and Lee reluctantly folded, too.

The Chip Up of Guerra

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Lautaro Guerra
Lautaro Guerra

Daniel Iachan opened from the hijack, but Jarod Minghini quickly applied pressure with a three-bet to 2,700,000 from the cutoff holding AQ. Lautaro Guerra, sitting in the small blind, woke up with AK and moved all in for 7,725,000. Iachan got out of the way, and Minghini made the call.

The board ran out 5J2K8, giving Guerra top pair on the turn and no help to Minghini. With that, Guerra secured the double and continued his rise through the chip counts.

John Wasnock

John Wasnock opened to 1,000,000 from early position and Muhamet Perati three-bet the button to 2,800,000. Eric Afriat was in the big blind and with half of his stack invested, he folded. Wasnock called.

The flop came J5A and Wasnock checked it over to Perati, who continued for 1,000,000. Wasnock then put in a raise to 3,200,000, and Perati quickly folded.

Wasnock then slammed 77 down on the table for a bluff, and raked in the pot with a huge smile on his face.

Eric Afriat Eliminated in 29th Place ($300,000)

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

Eric Afriat moved all in for his last 725,000 on the button. Nazar Buhaiov called in the big blind and Afriat voiced what he would like to see happen.

"Isolate me," he said with action still pending. No isolation took place as John Wasnock came along from the big blind as well.

The flop came 432 and Afriat started to pack up his card protectors as the two players checked in the dry side pot. The turn was the 7 and the action checked through to the A on the river.

Buhaiov finally led out with a bet of 500,000 and Afriat started to walk away from the table. Wasnock mucked his hand and Buhaiov flipped over Q5 for a straight. Afriat returned to table his 109 and then wished everyone good luck before departing.

Freitas Earns Three-Bet Pot

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Daehyung Lee opened to 1,000,000 with the 109 in the hijack and he then called a three-bet to 2,200,000 by Richard Freitas, who bumped it up with the QJ. They checked the AJ3 flop to the 8 turn and both players opted to check it again to the 10 river. Both had a piece of it but checked down for Freitas to win the pot with his pair of jacks.

The Chip Down of Guerra

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Leo Margets
Leo Margets

Kohei Arai A7 opened the action from the cutoff and picked up two callers: Lautaro Guerra on the button and Leo Margets in the small blind.

The flop came 2710, and after Margets checked, so did Arai. Guerra seized the initiative with a bet of 1,100,000, but Margets responded with an all-in shove holding J10. Arai quickly got out of the way, while Guerra took a moment, counted out his stack, and eventually made the call with 88.

Margets was ahead with top pair. The 4 on the turn and the 3 on the river changed nothing, and Margets scored a clean double to stay in tournament.

Nazar Buhaiov Eliminated in 28th Place ($300,000)

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Nazar Buhaiov
Nazar Buhaiov

Braxton Dunaway opened from middle position to 1,000,000 and Nazar Buhaiov three-bet the button to 2,400,000. When it got back to Dunaway, he called.

On the Q103 flop, Dunaway checked and Buhaiov bet 2,200,000. Dunaway called to see the 5 hit the turn, and again tapped the table. Buhaiov then shoved for around 6,500,000, and Dunaway beat him into the pot.

Nazar Buhaiov: KJ All in
Braxton Dunaway: 55

Dunaway turned a set of fives and had Buhaiov's Main Event life hanging by a thread. Buhaiov needed an ace or a nine to make a straight, but the 3 river wasn't what he needed, which ended his run in 28th.
