Drumond Wins Two Limped Pots

Jaehoon Baek limped in from the small blind. Breno Drumond checked in the big blind and called when Baek bet 1,200,000 on the 7♦2♣8♦ flop. The 2♠ turn and A♥ river were checked to showdown, where Drumond's 7♠4♥ won against Baek's J♠9♣.

The next hand, Drumond limped in from the small blind, and Cary Katz checked in the big blind.

After the 6♦A♣7♥ flop checked through, Drumond bet 1,300,000 on the 4♦ turn, and 1,800,000 on the 4♥ river. Katz called the bet on the turn, but quickly folded when Drumond fired on the river.

Both players tapped the table on the Q♣A♥A♣ flop, and Katz checked again after seeing the 3♠ turn. Baek slid out a bet of 800,000, and Katz quickly called.

The 3♥ river produced a bet of 600,000 from Katz, with Baek tossing in a call. Katz turned over A♠4♣ for a full house, raking in another pot as Baek mucked.

Benny Glaser, Scott Bohlman, Martin Kabrhel, and Shaun Deeb. Those have been the four names trading spots at the top of the 2025 World Series of Poker Player of the Year leaderboard.

But by the end of Sunday's action, Deeb could have his three closest competitors drawing thin.

Just three days removed from capturing his seventh career bracelet, Deeb is now on the verge of number eight, and with it, the inside track to yet another WSOP Player of the Year crown. He leads the final three in Event #84: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em, a tournament that was supposed to wrap up last night but needed an extra day to determine a winner.

Deeb returns to the Horseshoe Events Center at 2 p.m. local time with more than half the chips in play, holding 21,200,000. Zdenek Zizka (12,500,000) and Jeffrey Thoney (3,800,000) stand between him and the $232,498 first-place prize, and a Player of the Year race that is becoming his to lose.

Cary Katz made it 1,200,000 on the button, and Breno Drumond defended the big blind. Katz continued for 1,500,000 on the 4♥J♥5♥ flop, but quickly folded when Drumond check-raised to 3,000,000.

On the next deal, Jaehoon Baek raised his button to 1,200,000, and Katz called in the big blind. Baek placed a continuation-bet on the 3♦10♣J♠ flop, to which Katz check-folded.

The next hand, Katz limped in from the small blind, and Baek checked in the big blind. The 3♣5♦5♠ flop checked through to the 9♠ turn, where Baek took the pot with a bet of 1,200,000.
