At 11 a.m. local time, the event center in the Horseshoe Las Vegas will set the stage for a unique showdown between nine players competing for their share of a $100,000 prize pool and a custom-made bracelet in the WSOP: Solana Showdown.
Mind you, these are not your typical poker grinders: the nine entering the arena are all well-known names from the crypto space, but some are dipping their toes into poker for the very first time.
The nine contenstants taking part are MinhxDynasty, Ansem, AshleyDCan, King Solomon, Wendy O, Banks, Bangerz, Rasmr and Gabriel Haines.
With little time to prepare themselves for all the intricacies of Texas Hold'em, 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold held a special session to give the nine a crash course on poker, teaching them valuable tips and tricks to hold their own today.
The event will be played out in a single-table format, with $50,000 of the $100,000 prize pool plus the unique WSOP Solana Showdown bracelet going to the winner at the end of the day. While they're familiar in the crypto space, the poker table provides a unique challenge to test their wits, skill, and patience against each other.
