Elizalde Extracts Value Out of Sheena

With about 37,000 in the pot on a board of 7♣J♦5♠10♣K♥, Laith Sheena checked from early position, and Claudio Elizalde fired out a bet of 28,000 from middle position, sending Sheena deep into the tank.

Sheena looked visibly uncomfortable with the decision Elizalde had left him, his chips repeatedly moving from one hand to the other as he weighed up his options. After a couple of minutes, he finally tossed in a single chip to call.

Elizalde tabled the winner with Q♠9♠ for a rivered straight, earning him the pot and pushing his stack to almost 100,000.

Jesse Rivera raised to 900 in early position, and Antonio Da Costa called in the cutoff. Kristen Foxen then three-bet to 4,500 on the button, which both Rivera and Da Costa called.

The action checked in flow to Foxen, who continued with a bet of 4,000 on a 6♦K♦4♣ flop. Rivera called, but Da Costa folded.

Rivera checked for a second time on the Q♦ turn, but once again check-called when Foxen barrelled with a 16,000 bet.

The 9♣ river saw Rivera switch tactics, this time leading out with a bet of 12,700, leaving 26,000 behind. Foxen took stock of Rivera's remaining stack, and then moved all in, with a covering stack.

After some deliberation, Rivera folded K♠Q♠ face up.

"You can pick one, either one," Foxen told Rivera.

"No, it's a trap; I know you have a flush anyway," he responded.

The rest of the table was surprised that Rivera didn't want to see a card.

Rivera was confident in his read of the situation, as he continued, "It doesn't matter; she has a flush."

Foxen let another player at the table pick a card, who flipped over the 10♥.

Daniel Negreanu raised to 600 in the hijack. Philip Bottos upped the ante to 2,100 in the cutoff, which Negreanu swiftly called.

Negreanu check-called Bottos' continuation-bet of 1,700 on the J♣3♥5♠ flop. The 3♠ turn then went check, check, prompting Negreanu to toss in a bet of 5,000 on the 10♥ river.

Bottos needed little time before he called. Negreanu could only show king-high with K♣9♣, leaving Bottos to take the pot with 9♠9♥.

Douglas Kim and Nicholas Graphia went to the turn on a board of 9♥10♠7♦5♥ when Kim bet 10,000 from early position. Graphia called under the gun.

The river was the 2♠ and Kim moved all in for 23,000. Graphia quickly called with A♣A♠, but Kim turned over 10♥10♦ for a set to win the pot and double up.

"I make it count when I hit. I'll rather be lucky than good," Kim said.

As the camera crew came over to film a couple of hands at the table, Chance Kornuth opened from early position, and Michael Cervantes called in the cutoff. On the button, Dor Itah squeezed to 2,500, getting called by both Kornuth and Cervantes.

On the A♦8♣7♥ flop, it checked to Itah, who continued for 3,500. Kornuth then check-raised to 10,500. Cervantes quickly let his hand go, and Itah did the same after a small tank.

"Stop trying to make us look bad in front of the cameras!" a tablemate jokingly complained as Kornuth raked in the pot.

Martin Kabrhel, surrounded by a big crowd of spectators as he is seated near the rail, was involved in a four-way pot to the 9♦3♣6♦ flop.

It checked to him in the hijack, and he announced, "Rainbow," as he tossed in three differently colored chips for a bet of 1,600. Viet Nguyen called in the big blind, Felix Von Rahden folded in early position, and Thomas McAllister called in middle position.

Kabrhel sized up to 3,500 on the 4♦ turn. This time, Nguyen was the only one to check-call. Nguyen then led out for 6,600 on the 4♥ river, assembling his bet with four differently colored chips.

"Big rainbow!" Kabrhel exclaimed. He then thought, and mostly talked, for a while before folding his hand, shouting to the rail that he had mucked a "Medium Casino Royale."

Polk check-called a 3,000 bet from Digiacomo on the A♥2♣A♠ flop, and then both players checked on the 4♠ turn.

Polk shoved for his remaining 9,200 on the 10♠ river, and Digiacomo didn't take long to toss in a call. Polk turned over A♦Q♣ for trip aces, and Digiacomo showed he held J♥J♦ to award Polk the double-up.

Weisman checked to Vieira who put out a bet of 5,500. Weisman responded with a check-jam for his remaining 25,300. Vieira had his suspicions, but he opted to let it go after a minute's tank, conceding the pot to Weisman without showdown.

The four players checked the 5♦ turn to see the 9♣ complete the board.

After three more checks, Ruben bet 3,200. Only Guerra called, but he mucked after Ruben tabled 8♣7♣ for a flush.
