Brandt Cracks Takeya's Kings

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Lawrence Brandt
Lawrence Brandt

A series of raises between Lawrence Brandt from under the gun and Naoto Takeya on the button led to each player putting 19,500 each into the pot.

The flop came J74 before Takeya bet 15,600. Lawrence Brandt gave it some consideration before he went all in for 53,300 in response. Takeya made the call to put Brandt at risk.

Lawrence Brandt: 65All in
Naoto Takeya: KK

Brandt was loaded with outs as Takeya's kings needed to dodge several cards to hold.

It didn't take long for Brandt to get there when the 8 hit the turn to give him the flush.

Brandt wasn't out of the weeds yet, as Takeya could hit a heart on the river to hit a bigger flush.

That did not come to pass on the Q river as Brandt doubled up through Takeya to cross the six-figure mark.

Shapiro Shoves 90 Big Blinds With Deuces, Holds to Double Up

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Joshua Shapiro
Joshua Shapiro

Angela Gelinas open-shoved her last 7,700 from middle position. Joshua Shapiro called in the cutoff, after which the action folded to Alexander Semaan in the big blind.

Semaan put in a three-bet to 18,500, only to see Shapiro instantly move all in for 46,700. Semaan snap-called with the covering stack.

Angela Gelinas: AQ All in
Joshua Shapiro: 22 All in
Alexander Semaan: AK

The 668 flop provided counterfeit outs for Gelinas and Semaan, but Shapiro's ducks held on for dear life on the J turn and 3 river to scoop the pot.

Gelinas said her goodbyes to the table, while Shapiro doubled to a six-figure stack.

Dean Cimera

Hijack Justin Warner bet 1,100 into a pot of 4,500 on the 10510 flop. Dean Cimera called on the button, seeing Warner size up to 3,000 on the 3 turn.

Cimera was not impressed and raised to 9,000. Warner called to the J river, which he checked. Cimera then bet 15,000, quickly being called by Warner.

Cimera tabled J8 for a rivered jack, but Warner had been sitting on trips with K10 to be awarded the pot.

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
James Romero
James Romero

Three-way to the 722 flop, it checked to James Romero in the cutoff. He added 3,000 to the pot of 16,000 with a bet, only to be raised by Oleksandr Kandyba under the gun. Kandyba made it 13,000, folding out Mary Dubois in early position.

Romero thought for a while before he called, and the 5 was placed on the turn. Kandyba quickly moved all in, and Romero snap-called for his stack of 36,000.

James Romero: KK All in
Oleksandr Kandyba: QQ

The river fell the innocent 3. Romero's kings held doubling him up and leaving Kandyba with just over half a starting stack.

Set Over Set Doubles Goulder, Brings Quoss Back Down

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Alex Goulder
Alex Goulder

Heads up to the J3K flop, Fabian Quoss checked from the cutoff to Alex Goulder on the button, who bet 2,000 into the pot of 8,000. Quoss then raised to 7,000, and Goulder called.

Quoss fired 10,000 into the pot on the 2 turn. Goulder called again, seeing his opponent move all in on the 8 river.

Goulder's stack of 25,900 was covered, and he spent some time in the tank before he called off.

Quoss tabled JJ for a set of jacks, but Goulder had the higher set with KK to rake in the big double-up.

"Sorry if my tank made you," Goulder began, but he could not finish his sentence as Quoss reassured him he would have tanked in this spot as well.

Bilzerian Takes Big Hit

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Dan Bilzerian
Dan Bilzerian

Vitaly Kovyazin opened to 1,000 from under the gun and got four callers preflop, including Dan Bilzerian and Donald Procto early position, Scott Reginatto on the button, and Fabrizio Rosa in the small blind to create a five-handed pot.

The 92A flop was checked around to Reginatto, who bet 1,700. It folded to Bilzerian, who countered with a check-raise to 6,000. The only customer was Reginatto, while every other player folded.

Bilzerian kept up the betting on the J turn; this time, it was to the tune of 11,000. Reginatto made the call.

The A river did not deter Bilzerian, as he put out a third barrel of 15,000.

Reginatto snap called and showed 22. Bilzerian did not show his hand as Reginatto took in the healthy pot.

Omer Rotman

Omer Rotman checked the 109Q flop from middle position, and Sebastien Martineau checked behind from a few seats over.

The 3 on the turn brought another check from Rotman, but Martineau bet 2,000. Rotman check-raised to 7,000, and Martineau quickly called.

The 7 completed the board, and Rotman fired 15,000. Martineau stuck in the call and was shown 33 for a turned set. Martineau mucked, and Rotman's stack grew to around 200,000.

Lie Leaves Main Event Early

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Aylar Lie
Aylar Lie

As retold by Renan Revinthis, Aylar Lie had opened under the gun, and he called next to act. Lie then checked the A4Q flop over to Revinthis, who bet. Lie called, and she check-called Revinthis next bet on the A turn as well.

The 4 river prompted Lie to lead out for a pot-sized bet of roughly 10,500. Revinthis moved all in over the top, and Lie called off her remaining 38,000.

Revinthis revealed quads with 44. Lie had rivered a full house with AK, but it was no good as she departed the Main Event shortly after entering.

Haruhiko Shinohara: KKAll in
John Wasnock: QQ

Shinohara was well ahead of Wasnock as they went to a runout.

The board did not bring any drama as it spread out A10756 to award Shinohara the double up and drop Wasnock back down to below a starting stack.
