Moneymaker Finds Timely Check Back

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Chris Moneymaker raised to 2,000 in the cutoff, which only Shyamsundar Challa called in the small blind.

After Challa checked it over, Moneymaker continued with a bet of 2,500 on a 736 flop, and Challa called.

Challa checked for a second time on the 4 turn, and Moneymaker checked back.

It was the same story on the river, as Moneymaker wisely checked back when the Q completed the board. Challa tabled AQ, which earned him the pot.

"Oh, that was not a good river", Moneymaker said before letting Challa know that he had mucked a pocket pair.

Eoghan O'Dea raised to 2,000 first to act and was called by Kyle Smith from directly behind and Krisha Augerot on the button. Ren Lin then counted out a raise to 9,000 and placed it into the middle. Odea tanked for about two minutes and four-bet to 18,000, which got quick folds from Smith and Augerot, but a five-bet to 27,000 from Lin.

O'Dea shoved to put Lin all in and Lin called for 44,000 total.

Ren Lin: AAAll in
Eoghan O'Dea: AQ

Lin had O'Dea crushed with his rockets, and the 37KK2 runout changed nothing — awarding the double up to Lin.

Chow Gets Fold from Boeree

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Liv Boeree opened to 2,300 from early position. Jason Chow called from the middle position before Ben Fan came along from the big blind.

Boeree continued for 4,000 on the 546 flop after it was checked to her. Chow called, while Fan ejected his hand.

Boeree kept up the betting on the J turn to the tune of 6,500. Chow stuck around with a call.

The J river led to a third barrel from Boeree. This time, she wagered 12,500. Chow went into the tank before he slid out a raise to 35,000 in response.

Now it was Boeree's turn to consider the situation. She gave it some thought before she folded to award Chow the pot on the river without a showdown.
