Kyosuke Nagami raised to 5,000,000 from the cutoff with 700,000 behind and Daniel Savas in the small blind three-bet to 10,000,000. It folded back to Nagami, who called all in, and both players turned over the following pocket pairs.
Kyosuke Nagami: J♦J♣
Daniel Savas: Q♥Q♦
The Japanese rail, including WSOP Player of the Year contender Naoya Kihara, yelled out when the flop came K♣J♠3♠. However, the Q♣ turn was a dagger in the hopes of Nagami, leaving him with just one out. No miracle came with the 2♣ river and Savas earned the knockout with his set of queens.
Two years ago, Nagami finished in 21st place and now he bowed out in 23rd place for $325,000.
