Kil Just Happy to Be Here
Justin Kil was all-in for 600,000 in late position. Kartik Ved in the cutoff decided to raise to 1,800,000, making button Alex Ferrari consider his options.
While waiting for Ferrari to act, Kil confessed that this was his very first major tournament and that he was really enjoying himself in Vegas. Other players started teasing him that he had set a high bar for himself and that he would soon get hooked to the WSOP.
After much banter, Ferrari made the decision to call. When the blinds folded, the dealer proceeded to split the main pot at 2,400,000 and set aside the side pot of 2,600,000.
Ved and Ferrari checked the board Q♠4♥10♦6♦6♠ down. For the side pot, Ved showed A♠9♣ against Ferrari's K♠10♥, which hit the turn.
Kil happily asked, "Did you win it?" then showed A♦5♣ after the dealer's urging. Ferrari scooped the pot as Kil left the table, quite satisfied with his very first event ever in Vegas.
